No point being in it if you can't win it. We'll bide our time :) Best of luck v Brugge :)

Surely not playing De Gea this weekend brings his price tag down, if they are going to do a deal then it should have been done. Utd never get value for their players.

Champions of their country. The way it should be. And then most clubs don't have to beat the Italian Champions on their home pitch either. And sure we'll see how the minnows do against ye in a few weeks :)

It wasn't only the once. Monster Moenchengladbach as well. Real titans of European soccer.

If it was only champions of each country let in then it would be a much easier competition to win, as it was pre Champions League.

Used to love having this discussion at school

Not at all, not playing him simply means his head is up his arse and he is not mentally right to be trusted, he wants to go but his quiet nature keeps him from saying so, shit, he has his GF do the talking for him.

He should be careful what he wishes for, United have made him the keeper that he is today.

United were poor enough today, it will take time to gel but the fact that they did not manage a shot on target until the 70th minute tells you all you need to know about playing Rooney up front on his own.

In football you need width and depth, when Rooney comes back into the midfield he is taking away the depth, obviously if they play a high line he has to come back but today he played on the back foot a lot, maybe he will get  it with a couple of games under his belt.

Still, a top 6 team beaten and a competitive game under their belts, the Spurs were not at the best and if they had played like they did in the first fifteen minutes and the last five the whole game they would have won it.

Despite the mediocre performance it looks like being a good first weekend. The London contenders dropped points at home, hopefully citeh don't win tonight.

Well, seeing as he has a release cause, i doubt he has to be honest.

Does coming on last night affect his CL availability for the season?

No, he'd still be eligible

Whether he did or he didn't he wasn't playing anyway.

Why? Injured?

LVG had already stated that he wouldnt be playing until the window had closed and all the transfer stuff was out of the way.
Either he will be away or staying at the club til the summer.

Not sure if I like the idea of him walking away from the club at the end of the season on a free but I guess that's the game they are playing.

It's a cost-benefit issue. E.g. if De Gea wins them the league and secures champions league qualification again, then the opportunity cost has already been more than covered.
