Is that you, Rio?  ;D

Substandard

That's 6 points that wouldn't have been budgeted for!!

Blowitupref

Back to back wins under Carrick against Man City and today Arsenal away. Under Ruben Amorim United struggled to win consecutive games against any team
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Cunny Funt

Superb result and deserved one with goals from Cunha,Dorgu good enough to win any game.

Arsenal got what they deserved with their diving and flailing their way through the whole contest, with two lucky goals. They were also ridiculously lucky to win 1-0 in Old Trafford this season.

Well deserved win for Man U. Was similar to Liverpool game a few weeks ago Arsenal huffed and puffed first twenty mins then second best after. United had the firepower to punish Arsenal though.

Dorgu injury would be a concern as playing very well.

Thon boy will get the hair cut yet

I don't think the players downed tools for the last man in, and all the talk of tactics and systems didn't help BUT...

Bruno is much better further up the field.
Dorgu on the left and further up is better.
Playing Mainoo with Casemiro works better.

There is more protection now for the centre backs who can actually play decent balls from deep too.

So, all in all Amorim's was trying square pegs in round holes. And they now seem more free to play riskier passes and at a higher tempo.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

A good coach would identify that very quickly instead that Muppet just dug his heels in and insisted playing his way. Not much different from that absolute clown Nancy that wrecked Celtic. Let's hope if they hire someone else they don't get another stubborn fool that refuses to actually play to the teams strengths

Making those dropped points in the last run of RA's reign look even more annoying now.

Had they picked up a couple of wins in those even, it would be very interesting.

Good to see the effort levels way up on what they have been previously.

A great start to his interview, but a few more questions to come. Absolutely no reason to not give him till June and then make the call.

United's problem is since Ferguson they have tried every type of manager.

Give it to Carrick and it's another Solksjaer.

Give it to an up and coming current EPL manager and it's another Moyes.

Give it to the hottest prospect in a top development league and it's another Ten Hag or Amrorim.

Give it to successful genius/megastar it's another Mourinho.

Give it to a no nonsense disciplinary fella it's another Van Gaal.

Pick somone, and why not Carrick, and give them 3 seasons of absolute control and pray.

gallsman

Just to be clear, I was completely taking the piss. I hope they give it to him as it would be a terrible decision.

Armagh18

Looking good so far for Carrick and if he gets them in the top 4 he'll have to be on a shortlist.

Be a huge gamble giving it to him but so would most other managers.

Quote from: tiempo on January 09, 2026, 11:32:05 AMThe MF has been badly mismanaged, they aren't that bad

Utd don't need signings, they have 16 senior internationals to fit into 11 slots, and some excellent development prospects coming though, and its not like they have an excessive number of games to plan for, they need to start by getting the best out of what they've got

Are Utd objectively any worse on paper than Villa Chelsea Newcastle Brentford? No. Therefore they don't need signings at this time, they need to deploy effectively the talent they have in the building. The most recent urgent signing they needed was a GK and they now have a good one, they have 20 quality players vying for 11 places, its not rocket science

As i was saying, the players are there to make a stab at it in the short term

One HUGE positive is that Garnacho Rashford and Sancho aren't there to derail things, Rubens legacy?

Actually playing quite well recently

Armagh18

In an ideal world Carrick would get top 4, you'd get a few good signings in the summer, get a top manager in that'll steady the ship for a few years with Carrick as his assistant with a view to taking over in the longer term.
