QuoteHow is the size of a club measured?

I'd say 9 European Cups would be a fair measurement not to mention I think 31 domestic titles, worlds richest club the last 3 years, an 80K capacity stadium, world record transer fees  etc etc etc

It's got nothing to do with size of the club or probably even football for that matter. Had United been based in London there may have been a fair chance he would have stayed also.

Manchester is a shite hole and comparing the quality of life he would have in Madrid would far exceed that in Manchester which for me is the main reason he wants to go... fair play to him I say sure United have got Nani and he's going to be just as good  ;D ;D

Being funded by the government didn't help them with any of that??

What's that got to do with the price of cabbage?

Uladh

Selling to Madrid has become a dodgy route to go down. they have a very bad name for not being able to come up with the cash on time and drip feeding it over years as a consequence.

And Man Ure sold a load of geansai's to fund their's and Chelsea used an oil baron. Hasn't got much to do with the discussion in fairness I don't think Ronaldo is that bothered how they come up with the cash to pay him as long as it arrives every week!

If Roma were looking a left back, why didn't they go for Andrea Dossena? An Italian, 'proven' in Serie A?

Rather than go for Riise? - They must rate him higher... bodes well!

Dossena was more expensive, perhaps he didnt want to go to Roma, perhaps Roma didnt rate him. Its all about opinions Goats and  yours does not matter in the grand scheme of things, the same way Domenech thought Abidal was a better option at left back than Evra for the Romania game.......

Also, Juve, Milan & Fiorentina were all interested in Dossena. all reports suggest he had a great season and was close to making the italian squad. Couldnt be worse than Riise, thats for sure. Good business in my opinion.

Shrewdness

The word from sources close to the Glazer family is that Ronaldo will not be sold this summer.

They expect Ronaldo to submit a transfer request after Euro 2008, and have said that if Sir Alex digs his heels in and refuses to sell, the Glazers will back him all the way.

kumquat

He said its his dream to play for real madrid. Surely if the lad wants to go u hav 2let him go. There is no way the glazers will turn down an offer of 60mill+ it is good business. Remember there us a rather large loan to pay back.  ;D
Buy us a pint then Boselecta!!!

An Fear Rua

Transfer request was handed in last night

oh and David May got his belly out in a chinese last week for some impromtu dancing.
