I assume the expressions of agony and leg clutching are part of the Torres'  'exaggerated fall'.
An attempt to get Evans falsely carded, even red carded?

AZOffaly

I think the problem with Suarez is give a dog a bad name. I reckon he realises that he's not getting legitimate frees now because of his history of diving, and he;s like the boy that cried wolf. I hope he continues to stay up and reverse that perception, but it will take at least until a few TV commentators say something like 'Fair play to Suarez there, he could have gone down but didn't'.

The other lads mentioned have this thing of being honest british pros, who wouldn't stoop to that. It's the other adage, "If you get a name for rising at the crack of dawn, you can stay in bed until noon".

No, feigning injury is a separate offence.

thebigfella

In fairness Torres went down clutching his knee afterwards even though there was no contact on it. If you choose to go down so easily, you risk picking up a booking. Not the cleverest thing to do when you are on a yellow already from the Spanish ****  ;)

Sadly you are right. If a commentator says it then a huge number of people accept it. Making ones own mind up is not the norm these days.

Even if the ref had benefit of the 4 different angled slow motion replays and determined that Evans made the slight contact which caused Torres to fall, the feigning injury afterwards alone was enough to justify a yellow card.

We don't know yet what's in the referee's report.

Sky Sports reports  Dermot Gallagher disagrees with Clattenburg

In fairness those are totally useless without context

Main Street

Those are the contrasting headlines to 2 articles which come out of the same interview with Gallagher.
That's my entire context.
The content of each article is largely irrelevant.

NAG1

Dont really want to get into an argument on it, but techincally,

Dermot Gallagher disagrees with Clattenburg - Could be about the offside against Hernandez or any other decision in the game
Clattenburg got Torres decision right says Gallagher

But will leave it at that.

Small mercies, after that nonsense.

The problem with the Rio and Frimpong offences is that under the rules they are two different offences which carry two different range of punishments. Should they be? No, but they are currently so until the FA change this obvious irregularity the players aren't getting away with anything rather they are being dealt with in accordance with the rules. Rules which have been badly thought out by the FA

Two differing offences? If John Terry had called Anton Ferdinand a choc ice would he have been issued with a mere fine?
It's worth noting that Rio's fine for a racist tweet was less than Cole's for calling the FA a 'bunch of f***ing twats'!

Re the Torres yellow card. I'll expect to see a host of yellow cards now for exaggerated falls. Will it happen? Will it f**k. It's something that Clatenburg made up after he realised he had cocked up.

How was it racist? How could it be racist? Cop yourself on.

How big a points deduction should Chelsea get if the allegations they have made against Clattenburg are found to be false? I'd go for 15-20.

Can they donate them to us if so? We could do with them.

Seanie, at the very least, Rio's tweet was bordering on dangerous territory. He basically called Cole an Uncle Tom, which is obviously a reference to betraying his race.

Actually he endorsed someone else calling him it, that's the difference  ;)

Either way its an insult but not racist.
