Quote from: RedHand88 on April 10, 2026, 07:07:49 PMAverage Irish motorist spent €39.90 a week on fuel before this. Going by forecourt figures, the same amount of fuel would cost €49.28 today, an increase of just €9.38 per week, and it's almost certainly temporary at it is caused by geopolitical factors.

€9.38 wouldn't buy you a fish supper. Is this really worth stopping women in labour from getting to hospital?

Contractors aren't the average motorist and it costs a lot more then that to run machines..

Brains would be severely lacking in those cnuts.
Time the Law was enforced on them as it would be on the rest of us if we decided to block roads, oil depots etc.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

So i struggle to buy a good new car on decent money these days. And the fuel increases affecting a job were am out steady, but the guys out complaining about fuel(a issue caused by the US) are driving tractors (new John Deere or New Holland cost u £120k. Dont think anybody on here running round in a £100k+ car. I give the guy driving the F40 a miss, some machine.

Stop the school buses on Monday and the general public feeling do a full 180, so they not be to bright trying that.

The ironic thing is that, if there's a temporary price cut, all the lads on here complaining will be the first people in the queue at Applegreen and Circle K etc.

100%. Would love to see it but not sure what good it would do. At least this is effective.

Israel. America merely stooges.

Imagine how much good feeling it would generate if the farmers drove all over Doonbeg , maybe blockaded it.

Would draw the eye of Sauron quickly, he absolutely would comment on it.and start threatening..

Maybe they can bulldoze into Shannon and stop the military gear helping to slaughter people. Army open fire on them ya reckon?

Effective how? What has it achieved beyond pushing prices back up and making cancer patients miss treatment?

There is a lot of support for the protesters. The government should tread carefully.

Of course there is.

As I said above, the whingers on here will be the first people on the forecourts when this package kicks in. Hyprocrites.

I'm sure they will if they need fuel for the vehicle.
