Rather pay 2 quid a litre as drive one of them things :D

Don't knock electric until you drive one. I've mine a year and not one complaint. Massive saving in fuel cost when you charge on home on cheaper rates.

Does the charging station not be a bit expensive to install at the house? Or is their grants available?

I would have knocked them but the sister in law has recently got an Audi Q6 etron and it's a lovely bus.

BMW X1

Has taken me all over Ireland following Longford. High speed chargers are becoming more and more available. For example, when Longford played Antrim a few weeks ago, I went a bit early and fully charged the car up there while I had my lunch before the match. The full charge cost about €20. A full tank of petheral would have been...........what.......€70?

Grants are available. And the low rate night rate can be 1/3 or lower of the normal rate. So, a full charge, with 350km or so, at night, can cost less than €15.

A lot more than that I'd say. Well, nowadays anyway.
