Good result indeed.

If 3 teams finish level on points - meaning scoring difference decides the placings - does anyone know if it's only the games between the 3 teams themselves that count in calculating the scoring difference?
Or are all 4 games for each team included?

Last year Connacht GAA stated it would be only games between the 3 teams themselves that count.

Sligo 2-9 Galway 2-8 FT, a joy to watch from start to finish. We never dropped our level. The defensive stand when Galway were pressing for a winner in the 55th min was outstanding, I think Galway had the ball for 5 mins and kept probing but we kept them out and under pressure. The madness of them going for the 2pts when level was because of the mental pressure Sligo put on Galway. This is a huge win. We attacked with pace and intent from the off.

I couldn't be more happy for Management. It is refreshing to see a management take the lessons and learn quickly. All the positional changes were big risks, repositioning Dillon Walsh, the full back and midfield, changing the keeper, conlon and it all worked. Fair play to them. The GK kickouts were outstanding all game. Tommy Ross is a class act as are Walsh and Niland. Great to see Eli back as well. The one handed catch from the kickout was outrageous. We did far better at midfield this week. The HB line is such an area of strength.

Great heart throughout the team and great work ethic. Last week we had some rustiness but now hopefully we can build on this against Leitrim next week. No matter what happens we have another group of elite top tier players coming through.

Looks pretty straightforward from a Galway point of view - if we don't beat Roscommon we're gone.
If we win - we should qualify.
The most likely scenario (if we win) is three teams level. We would have a better score difference than Sligo so would be guaranteed 2nd or 3rd spot.
If Sligo were to beat Mayo that would leave ourselves and Ros joint 3rd and we'd progress on the head to head.
I wouldn't be putting any money on us winning that game mind you.
Capable of playing some great stuff but really only doing it in fits and starts.

Pretty incredible Minor match in Tubbercurry. Great camera angle to watch to it.

Sligo 0-18 Galway 1-17, how we finished without scoring a goal is one of the great mysteries, a missed penalty, hit bottom of the post, 2 one on ones with GK, clearance off the line. So about 5 I counted. Galway missed probably 2 good chances.

This Sligo team has loads of fight and heart and give it everything but are very limited, just too many bad habits and basics under pressure lacking. Feeney at 11 was basically a one man show. Sligo were 1-17 to 11pts down with 6 mins remaining but penned Galway in and scored 7 in a row. 3x 2pts from sub Boland who came on late. Some of starting forwards so no signs of accuracy so its hard to understand how Boland came on so late. Clearly a breakout game so hopefully not a once off. Even from frees he looks worth his place and its not like there 6 adrian marrens ahead of him. Lang showed well but needs to improve his accuracy. Actually across the board this teams accuracy is a major issue. We need to watch the overruns in defence too. Meehan made a big difference too when he came on.

If this Sligo team can play like they did in the last 15 mins for a full match they will cause Mayo and Leitrim a lot of problems and can win both. It was a exciting comeback today so hopefully more to build on. This is the rawest Sligo team I have seen for a long time. Hard to know what to make of them. Galway looked poor enough it has to be said. Connacht might not be strong this year at minor. If you can sneak into 3rd place you never know.

Superb performance by the young Rossies. Very intelligent controlled football in second half against the wind. Dara Curran is another great forward that gives hope for the future. His second half goal showed composure beyond his years. Mayo also have a great prospect in the other Dara, Dara Flanagan. Scored a fine second half goal too.

Bizarre game between Sligo and Galway in the minor. Galway were very comfortable from the first whistle until with about 7 or 8 minutes to play. I think they were 9 or 10 points up. Had just missed a great goal chance to go even further ahead. Completely in control of the game. Hard to figure out what happened after that but I think Andrew Kehoe the Galway midfielder getting a red card towards the end definitely changed some energy on the pitch as he was the dominant player in the middle of the field. Must have caught 7 or 8 kickouts. Was a huge physical presence. Sligo brought on a few subs who gave them a lift and just seemed to get a run on them and they kicked four huge 2 pointers in about 5 minutes. Had no choice but to go for 2 pointers as they were so far behind and I think they nailed every one they took in only the space of a few minutes. It was mad stuff. And they also missed a penalty in the middle of it. Now the penalty was one of the worst decisions you'll ever see. Ref signalled it was for a foot block. Which seemed to be on the advice of one of the umpires. The replay showed the Galway defender made a text book block with the hands. His feet were nowhere near the ball. Pen was saved by the keeper anyway but that decision could easily have cost Galway the game in the dying minutes.

Guess it shows that with the new rules you can be cruising in a big lead but all it takes is three 2 pointers or so and you can be back in touching distance and almost within a kick of the ball of drawing level or even going ahead.
