Glen v Magherafelt        Glen - AET -1
Newbridge v Slaughtneil    S'Neil  - 2

Foreglen v Limavady        Limavady - 3
Greenlough v Glenullin    Greenlough - 4

Moneymore v Doire Trasna  Moneymore -5
Slaughtmanus v Glack    Slughtmanus -2

I would agree on the back pitches at Owenbeg - the lack of dugouts is very strange, it was noticeable at Feile with players sitting along the sideline, making it look a bit amateur. I would think venues will be fixed after tonight as potential for Ballinascreen to be in 2 finals so might be waiting for that.
U16A hurling final between kevin Lynches and Slaughtneil is set for that back pitch in Owenbeg tonight

The back pitches are the ones closest to the A6.
Pitch 1 running parallel to the stadium pitch which is the same size, good lights will surely be the pitch that's used... It's the one that has been used up until now when not using the stadium pitch

Good pitch, both ball catchers up too.

GTP

Are the back pitches nearest the A6 for Derry City FC?
Pitch 1 may be a good pitch, but it would be better for matches with dugouts provided. All my time spent as a sub means I am sympathetic to the extended panel being left with no shelter.

Agree with you 100% on that but it's not asking too much to have dugouts for championship final /semi final underage games I think

Agreed, the wee benches don't cut the mustard, especially this time of the year

Quote from: Brendan on October 09, 2025, 10:36:32 AMWith just the u16 football finals to play and no venues up yet, I've noticed alot of the underage finals have been on the back pitches at Owenbeg, I dont think theyre appropriate for such a big occasion for the kids and their families. Pitches in awful condition, poor floodlights and no dugouts. Plenty of good club grounds which could have been used which is usually the case
There's not many clubs at this time of year willing to host games, regardless of the occasion or game. There is no 'prestige' in hosting an U16 final, particularly now we seem to have so many of them across the grades.

There's no gate for those games so it's not that the county board are looking to profit off hosting them. It's probably cos nobody else wants them.

Derry Man

Jude McAtamney signed for NY Giants as first choice kicker, some achievement. Swatragh club may be getting some upgrades $$$

So you're telling me I need to get that £5 back from Bellaghy for the U14 Final double header that they hosted a couple of weeks ago.

;D Seems to me you've just contributed to Bellaghy's next infrastructure project!

How many other counties CEO would be sent off at a junior championship semi-final?

BigBallSmallBall

Just home from the JFC Semi Final in Owenbeg tonight Moneymore Vs Doire Trasna. Exciting game of football! But the main talking point is the - Referee lost total control of the game and could have ended very nasty. Think the County Board need to act on this, as the standard of Derry referees has never been as low.

Was at the game and the CEO didn't get sent off.

I think that's being harsh, I was also at the game, and I thought that the referee had a good game. Not sure how he can control a Moneymore player running into the entire Doire Trasna team at the end of full time which led to a schmozzle and both teams losing a player.

You'll also find the CEO was sent off for his part in this as well which is why he watched the remainder of the match from behind the net at the Road end.
