Eoghan Rua --- v --- Ballinascreen
Lavey --- v --- Na Magha
Senior / Intermediate
Swatragh --- v --- Banagher
Slaughtneil --- v --- Kevin Lynch Hurling Club

Swatragh v Banagher will be interesting. Will either team really want to win this 😀 Better chance of a run by loosing and facing Kevin Lynches in the Intermediate!

GTP

Difficult that the loser's path might be of more benefit in that SF. You would hope both would have a good go at    each other.

Quarter Finals shouldn't even be in Owenbeg

Not sure about that. It's a really good venue and very central.

County board Lenny strikes again, toeing the party line.

How you arrive at the conclusion that this is a central venue for any of these fixtures takes some twisting of logic.

Agree Keyser,Magherafelt v Dungiven at Bellaghy friday night under lights,Slaughtneil v B/screen at Glen on Saturday at 4,Glen v Lavey at B/screen Sun at 1.30,Newbridge v Bellaghy at Magherafelt Sun at 4,would draw better crowds,or is it maybe to do with screening the games ,maybe that's why they're in owenbeg

GTP

Ballinderry V Glenullin at 12 00 PM on a Sunday in Owenbeg seems the strangest choice of venue and time.
On your suggestions Owenbeg is probably more convenient for Glen v Lavey than B/Screen. Single matches would likely produce a better atmosphere and crowds, double headers you have people drifting in and out during the games. I would guess it is a minority that are prepared to stay for two full matches despite whatever they get charged in so not really sure what purpose they serve.
I'm sure we will never find out but if they are being streamed then probably is to do with that.

lol, not exactly a county board man as I hate Celtic park but I think owenbeg is a brilliant venue. What I meant by central is that it's around half an hour at the most for most people to get there. Some other venues are good too but on a wet, windy evening or day it's hard to beat that big, comfortable stand at owenbeg.

The stadium or the location? Nowhere better to watch a game than in Celtic Park when it's full.

Best venue in the county Celtic Park. New road infrastructure has made a very welcome improvement. 2nd Owenbeg. Out of the venues in South Derry my preferred one is Bellaghy when full, although a bit tighter.
cccc is a true supporter lol

Not fond of the location myself due to the traffic issues, but I can live with that.
I don't think its a good place to watch a game when it's full unless you are in the stand. I was in the terracing for some of the games this year when full, and there are areas where you won't be able to see the pitch extremities, even the sideline directly in front of your view is obscured by the fencing being so close to the pitch.
Facilities are awful too. In my opinion, Owenbeg is a much better experience for watching a match.

Terrace is good and steep, and all 3 stands v close to the pitch creating a real colluseam feel when full. Facilities decent enough over at the terrace. Toilets elsewhere , changing rooms = grim.
I enjoy Owenbeg too, but I think the stand is too far from the pitch to create any kind of real noise even when full.

Favourite club ground to watch a game would be Glenullin

2 questions, is the Derry Intermediate ladies final actually the senior? And why has it been postponed without a reason being given? Makes the Ladies football look a bit of a farce

Derry had previously not been allowed to enter Ulster at the same level as their own championship as they were seen as a weaker county, so Derry's senior champions went into Ulster intermediate, Intermediate into Junior and Derrys Junior champions didn't get an Ulster run. Following steelstown winning Ulster Intermediate last year this was changed and Derry now compete at the parallel level. However, some of those on the county executive whose clubs were to play senior this year, seen this as a opportunity to restructure in order to give their own clubs a better chance at getting to the same stage in Ulster (intermediate) as previous years without having to take on the might of Steelstown. In their wisdom they then decreed that we now have 4 Derry championships, Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Jubior B, and gave wipped the history of recent years claiming that the Steelstown have never won a Senior championship as it was Intermediate all along and so on down the ranks. This has meant that Steelstown are being handed a Senior championship without having to play a game (which they are against and have no part to play in this), and teams who played senior league and should be playing senior championship are playing intermediate as so on. Coleraine for example played senior league this year but won the 'Junior' championship today. Farcical. With regards to the postponement I'm not sure but it could have something to do with the poor wee mite who passed away from Magherafelt.

For God sake they do themselves no favours at all, aligning the associations is going to be impossible if they shaft themselves like that never mind the other codes.

On the postponement I'm sure you're right, never clicked with me when I seen it but makes sense, wouldn't have taken much to clarify that instead of just saying it's postponed with no reason given

Thecluesarethere

All of Magherafelt's club activities are postponed this weekend as a mark of respect.

By all accounts it's a shambles. Brought Barker in to do interviews for county management teams and appointments (baring u16 which was a slam dunk) widely ridiculed as totally unqualified, and county chair is now dictating how trials etc... should be ran. Appears that most running it are only there for their own interests....but then again is that much different to the mens game 🤔
