Odhran Campbell seemed to do well on him last night

No - he is an u21 now

Derry Optimist

There is always a natural tendency to only select players for their performances in the Senior club championship when one is considering what new additions should be made  to the county panel every year. Any one see a potential Niall Loughlin or Lachlan Murray(Ballinderry current county panellists excepted!)from our present Junior and Intermediate championship campaigns?

Downeys leaving Lavey a big regret for both, probably more so the Downeys. There would been a championship in that Lavey team.

Hearing the Downeys are causing problems at their Belfast club. Shae called a meeting and got the manager out as he didn't play the brothers. Always hard to know what to believe but that's what they are saying over on the Antrim page.

The Downeys should do the right thing and return to Lavey.

Is the chance of return zero? From an outsider the return of the downeys would add to the Derry championship

What would it add? How many games have they played between them in 2-3 years?

Ryan O

It would add nothing, decent players but not the stars anticipated at underage level.
Playing in an inferior league in Antrim and by no means dictating the show (apart from off the pitch maybe).

families heavily involved in everything about Lavey before moving on but it just shows any club is stronger than any personality or family.

Disappointing final yet again. I think it would take a rest of Derry team to beat Slaughtneil at the minute, even then it would be doubtful. They have to be favourites for Ulster after the Antrim semis this weekend.

Theres not enough hurling clubs in Derry, very small base, 1 very strong club is not beneficial to them once they outside the county.
