We boundc o find somebody up front. That a ridiculous scoreline from Steelstown v Faughanvale. Nobody trying to defend at all?

Steelstown Vale went to extra time was 1-17 to 3-11 at end of normal time. Cahir McMonagle very impressive in that match along with the Steelstown 14, first 2 games were brilliant but I couldn't sit any longer in that heat

Usually low scoring and Baltic! Lol

Round 1 winners draw
Steelstown Loup
Bellaghy Slaughtneil
Glen Dungiven
Lavey Magherafelt

Round 1 Losers draw

Screen Kilrea
Newbridge Swatragh
Vale Drumsurn
Ballinderry Banagher

Some more tasty ties there, had fancied Dungiven to pull off the shock of the weekend and they did so, youd fancy Newbridge to beat Swatragh though. Does anyone know can you meet Round 1 opponents again in the 3rd round?

Good question not sure if meet or not.
Dungiven were super this evening Odhran Murphy 13 , Niall Mc Gonigle 14 and Joe Dillon were everything you would want in forward line.
Charlie Diamond from Bellaghy also really impressive, his movement and strength on the ball for lad so you surly has Meenagh looking for a phone number.

Newbridge missed Conor Mc Ateer for majority of game and he was a real handful when he came on.I assume must be carrying an injury or something.
The losers knockout side of the draw on paper look 4 easy enough games to call. Anyone expecting a shock in there?

Poor enough games today from a neutral perspective. Banagher keep themselves in it for a good while but you always felt Glen could up it if they needed to. Jack Doherty very good. Bellaghy dismantled Ballinderry. Young Diamond at full forward was impressive. I thought the last game would be tight but if anything the scoreline flattered Newbridge. Joe Dillon and Oran Murphy were very good.

Wildweasel74

Charlie Diamond on the county the panel already.

The 4 winners from the losers games will play the 4 losers from the winners games...if that makes sense

Ahhh. Ok Brendan. Thanks.

So if you get to quarter-finals, it's straight knock-out. No second chances then. Even if you've won your first 2 games.

Yep. Quarters is the end of the road regardless.

Yes, one chance.
All ireland format next year apparently
Some people will begrudge that today's winners don't get a second go, but I think it's a good format.

They do unless you mean something different.

Wildweasel74

Winning 2 games may count against u, a months break from the 2A Rd to the quarters, that's too long.

Only a week between the semis and the final, bit odd

I believe it is because Derry are in the Ulster prelim round vs. Antrim and it's too allow enough preparation time
