Suggested threat of violence seems to be the go to for unionism these days.

Nolan show yesterday - Workers can't have Irish on their uniforms because they will be attacked, the day before, we can't have a border poll because it will be destabilising and cause violence. The reaction to the Irish language at the council will be the usual they will probably find a way to block it and celebrate and gloat about their short term win not realising it just pushes moderate nationalists and the middle ground more into the unity camp

How does a state die? Very slowly at first then very quickly.  Unionists need appreciate where they are now in 2025.  They still have an opportunity to shape the future of NI.  If they don't, they're going to wake up one morning in 10-15 years time and it will be gone, and they'll be asking how it happened.

I hate delving into whataboutery, but a more pertinent and relevant point is the amount of money wasted by BCC facilitating and cleaning up after Unionist bonfires on an annual basis. Im sure the DUP, TUV et al have no qualms there.

If the  council vote  had  gone the other way , they'd have said democracy has spoken. When it doesn't go their way (like the  city hall flag) , they bitch and   moan and threaten  violence and court cases.

I honestly think it's  all a facade. They have to be seen  to be kicking up a fuss.  If they didn't , theyd  face  criticism from their knuckledragger voters  for lying down and doing nothing

It also serves them  well come next election, where they can raise  same knuckledraggers out in numbers to vote against  those pesky taigs who are taking over  the place .

I am shocked beyond words that Nolan covered this topic last night. Shocked.

I'm shocked that anyone with a titter of wit watches that shíte or listens to his Talk Loyalism radio show.

For me even the most ardent PUL knows they are running out of road

I believe they'll keep up with the staunch facade while Gerry Adams has breath in him

After that they'll lose any remaining gusto, this will likely tandem with their demographic hitting the wall

It's all a great distraction from the must useless elected set of politicians anywhere in the western world, apart from waste millions over and over what have any of them achieved, the place is joke.

You can't say "but RHI" forever and ever given that the minister responsible is long gone.

So should we concentrate on all the amazing things they have done instead, please list them and we can quote those successes rather than the corruption and political ineptitude by all sides.

Just a shocking show that. No one can articulate a point - even the lads they let on the line can hardly express themselves and then Nolan can't understand them and then he's shouting like a lunatic. And then Bywson can't talk either and shouting jibberish over Francie Molloy who is not an Irish speaker but didn't take the bait and looked like he'd rather be in bed. To cap it off Nolan shows an alternative graphic of his show in Irish with the words O'Nuallain Beo in a weird squarish font and both he and Bwyson think it says Nollyann in bed. Just pure insulting shite by BBC TUV.

Watched a couple of minutes and turned it over. I'll get over 2 minutes some day! The like of Francie Molloy are better not engaging and let the rest of them work away.

An t-Amadán Ramhar Beo would be more appropriate.

Meanwhile in the real world i.e. outside the red white & blue / green white & gold bubble this is happening.

I'm sure if they were sufficiently bothered DUP / SF would not be long each finding £10m from their various pet projects to cover the shortfall.

.

It is awful rubbish but people do need to be on it to engage the utter garbage the like of Bryson talk. Apparently nationalism have been lording it over poor unionism for the last 30 yrs.

I always find it funny how the alliance party are 'Sinn Feins little helpers' and part of the pan nationalist front yet as soon as anyone mentions a border poll it's waved away by the same clowns because the likes of the Alliance are suppossedly all die hard unionists lol

Ain't democracy a bitch. The bastards have been broken with equality.

Unionism is  like a stage play. Everyone of them (politicians, councillors, unelected bin boys) playing a  very predictable role. Can't go off-script. As you say ,  they have  the opportunity to shape NI (and retain their precious union) , but nobody has  the brains or guts to grasp that nettle.

A united Ireland will happen sooner or later, and they  will go down  kicking and screaming  on their  sinking NI ship, and it  will be everyone else's fault , never   their own.

They don't see it as that.

If, like Bryson and Co, what I term East Coast unionists, they don't knowingly engage with nationalists day and daily, especially if you're from Donaghadee or the likes, so seeing Nationalism seeking parity is indeed a culture shock.
