It's hard to imagine any dainty Dublin boot setting itself down in that muck. Funny how Hound or Indy haven't weighed in yet. They must be in O'Connell Street, marching. Hopefully they'll post once they get back.
You're dead right. The Hyde is alright for a heap of culchies, but surely there's no way the GAA will make the Dubs play in conditions like that.

However, there is a serious lack of alternative options. So we're trying to find our own culchies who will be more suited to playing in the muck and puddles, just in case it goes ahead in the Hyde Swamp. Word has already gone out to the likes of Garristown, Man o War and the Naul to make sure their men are ready!

U21 Final moved to Markypark so I think the Jackeens better start buying wellies as they will be Hydebound Sunday come Hell or high water( sorry).
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Lot of rain on the way, Fri/Sat night and Sunday looking bad. Can see it being moved to Tullamore, pitch could be flooded again.

Be a nice thing for the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick to get a twist.

It is what our forwards wear for shooting practice.

The match on Sunday should never have gone ahead. Lucky no one injured on the day. Can criticise the dubs and the money they get, but the only reason that game was played was for financial reasons. Didn't want to have turn people away or give out refunds.

Would have thought Roscommon would switch the game to croke park. Give them another chance to show off their team bus.

Can see the same fiasco next Sunday. County board won't want to give up the gate receipts. Might as well just play it on a bog somewhere in the county at this stage.

Jinxy

If my recollection of junior cert geography is correct, the landscape of Roscommon is basically a giant sink and Hyde Park is the plughole.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

Ah yeah. You're on the money there comparing the finances of Dublin and Roscommon. A match with a 100k gate is a financial lifeline for Roscommon, it's the pocket money AIG lost behind the couch for Dublin.

If the GAA wanted a better pitch at the Hyde maybe they should have stumped up the Euros themselves.
