Absolutely desperate for an All Ireland.

lol, Tyrone have just broken the bank to bring in an outside manager against all their supposed principles and you call Derry desperate for an AI. After a few poor seasons MOR will be under some pressure to deliver. With a rich supply of u20 talent surely he couldn't fail.

Have they? How much is MOR on?? You must know?

£80k tax free... Not to be sniffed at

That is some mileage rate  ;)

A serious question, does anybody know how much managers get paid?

At inter-county level.

It would hardly go through the county board's accounts.

Is it just cash from a business or a few businessmen? Paid three of four times a year?

Do they have a written contract?

Talk that Mickey Harte will get 100k for his jointed management role at Offaly. All speculation nobody really knows what managers get.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

the goal was on

Mark Doran be Derry manager in next few days. Has been in for a few county jobs in recent weeks and now a div 1 team will fall on his lap.

That's what I'm asking, in all seriousness.

Who actually knows apart from the payer out and the manager?  It is all conjecture.  It's easy to just throw out figures say £60k or £70k but nobody can back it up.

As a package, manager, trainer and stats person etc., then that'd cost a lot more you'd think.

I'm not so sure, that's a big sum, I'd say there's a chosen few on around £70k / £80k. Mind someone telling me that Micky Moran has prob made close to 3/4 a million from managing. I'd say Geezer has probably topped that.
I'm torn re managers getting paid tbh, in today's game, an inter county manager couldn't really hold down a full time job and manage, especially if there's travel involved.
There's some chancers out there too, up our, and I'm sure every county is the same, you've a bunch who jump from job to job never having won anything.

Mid to high 5 or even into 6 figures would be the norm I'd say.

Geezer worth every penny and more ;)

Meath expenses went from €25k in Andy's last year. To €125k in colms first. No explanation given.

There not a county manager at high level county team level under £60k. Even then a no. are on more than that. Of course it's all heresy. As if anybody knows excately what they on. The taxman be at their door.

Was expecting Mcstay to remain for this year. Just cause the boat as sailed on who would replace him.  But at years end he's gone.

apart from the inflated expenses example per Louth, you might also see them engaged as a consultant by the main sponsor (providing some obscure consultancy services) - paid directly by sponsor or even employed by the county board in some capacity. I think at the levels these boys are getting paid now, I reckon they're taxed one way of the other. I can't see anyone getting 80k petrol money and it going unchallenged by Revenue or HMRC.
