This year and last year. Cork finish 5th,4th in Div 2 and made their exit at the last 12 stage in the championship. A county of their size/pick should be doing a lot better but the county board seem happy enough with such mediocrity.

If reports are to believed Mayo are down to two options in Andy Moran,Tony McEntee with interviews to take place next week are either upgrade on Kevin McStay?

Time will tell, but the status quo just wasn't palatable to anyone.

Tony McEntee didn't pull up any trees in Sligo. Nothing to suggest he is a contender for the Mayo job.

Can't see where (other than his rep as a player) or why he would be getting even named in the running for such a prestigious role. I'd be baffled with this one if I was a Mayo supporter.

Andy Moran is the front runner according to the independent today.  As outright manager so far his experience was three years with Leitrim in Div 4, got promoted in his final year.

Championship wise no real postive stand out result or performance I can recall. New York got their first ever Championship win over his Leitrim side. He left Leitrim when it was known a lot of players was opting out for 2025 season. I'm surprised he's in the running to become the new Mayo senior manager, coming in as a forward coach or managing the U20s would make more sense?
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Appointed a little over 5 weeks since stepping down as Louth manager.

From Dublin Gaa

The Dublin County Board are delighted to confirm that Ger Brennan has been appointed as manager of the Dublin Senior Football Team for a three-year term.

The St. Vincent's clubman enjoyed a hugely successful playing career, winning All-Ireland titles with Dublin under both Pat Gilroy in 2011 and Jim Gavin in 2013.

Dublin County Board chairman Ken O'Sullivan

"Ger has achieved the highest honours as a player with Dublin and he has our full support in leading the Dublin Senior Football panel in pursuit of further honours in the coming years.

"We wish Ger, his team and the panel the very best and look forward to the 2026 season".

Ger's management and backroom team will be announced in due course.

No one saw that coming lol.

You'd imagine they'll be a force under him.

He'll have the opportunity to win back to back Leinster titles as manager now after that I'm not sure how much of force they'll be in the All-Ireland series, quarter final exits the last two years was pretty much their level as the overcome the transition of losing a number of key players to retirement.

I think his 2 AI Club titles and 3 X  USFC Club titles with Crossmaglen in a management stint along with Gareth O'Neill may have played a part in that reputation.

There's very few management roles where you have to take the opportunity when it comes along. Ger realises this is his chosen time for Dublin.

Kerry and Tyrone are probably the only other two roles where you'd drop everything to take the job when it's offered.

Another kick in the teeth for Louth. Same way Mickey Harte jumped ship when another county came fluttering their eyelids.

ardtole

Ger Brennan achieved everything Louth Gaa could have asked off him. He has left to the county he played for and captained, I'd doubt there are many in Louth who wouldn't wish him well.

The circumstances are in stark contrast to Harte's departure.

Aye, but I'm sure they appreciate that they're Louth. They have a big backer to throw money at people but it's not really ever going anywhere long term.

There's a girlfriend analogy to be had here but I'm too woke for it.
