What a farce that Liatroim game is, has to be another option. Half time and it's 10-10 to 0-2

Reenforces the point i made earlier.

All teams outside the top 6 are realistically junior standard.

100%. If this format continues can anyone honestly see anyone other than the two teams dropping from senior wining the intermediate?

Manager merry go round has started already. Lots of Facebooks posts past couple of days from clubs asking for interested parties to get in touch.

We made it over the line today against a pretty limited Ballycran.

When you've a 47yo FF and your gameplan is just to lob the ball in on top of him and hope for the best, it's a bit worrying.

More worrying for us is that it resulted in a goal even if our goalkeeper was screaming for a square ball only to be told by one of Peters umpires that he's allowed in the square once the ball is hit!!!
Peter might like to sort that out with his umpires!

That said, the sending off for me watching at the other end of the pitch was a tad soft as there was some sort of a strike, not sure if was with the hurl though.

After that the game was a bit of a damp squib, Ballycran just put another big lad in on the square and rinse and repeat, only with no real return from it.

At times we looked good, well worked interplay resulting in goals or goal chances aplenty which we did take some well, other times maybe a pass or touch on the hurl too many and the scoring opportunity was snuffed out.
A Portaferry senior coach beside me couldn't get over the amount of space Ballycran allowed in front of our FF line who do have serious pace even if one has his hamstring bandaged up. They'll not be making the same mistakes in two weeks time on the smaller Pairc Esler.

They're already looking at Slaughneil, so we'll just go and hope to keep it pucked out to them as they say.

On another note, well done to Bredagh minors on winning the football, is it going to be a full East Down rout in hurling and football other than intermediate football?  ;)

Looking at the managerial turnover across the football leagues, might we be approaching a point where a club or two will have no management team for the start of a season?

maldini

I wouldn't think so, first match isn't for 6 months

Truth hurts

You need to be mad to take a senior team

I'm sure the brown envelopes help cure the madness

So, we are County minor Football champions for the first time 😁. Absolutely supberb performance from every single player. Not the hard bit faced by near every club, get these fellas playing senior. So close to the minor double as well.

So next stop St Paul's

Congratulations. Watched youse in Ballyholland a few months ago and there's 5-6 properly strong footballers ready to be uncorked.

The Belfast clubs have serious potential. Minor title gone North Down, Senior title could follow to carryduff.
East Belfast getting big numbers. Can only be good for the county.
Bredagh minor hurlers have had a good recent run also.

Well done, will you get many into senior football?
I do not think it will be your last

That's the dream, a few will no doubt make it, but only if they want to and are prepared to put the hard yards in.

Good to hear. Do you have many returning families to Bredagh these days.
