Chromecast from google works great for me, control netflix, hulu etc from the tablet or I-phone. Plugs if to a HDMI on the TV. Cheaper than Apple TV.

Got netflix set up on the smart there. Great job! Loads of great tv series to get stuck into and ive seen a few top class documentaries on it as well. Ones were telling me you can change the ssettings on the tv so you receive the US version which as a better selection of shows and films. Any truth in this or has anyone tried it with success?

No need for anyone to be paying for netflix imo well anyone with a Android device that is.

If you have a Android device(phone, tablet,TV dongle/box) download 1mobile market.apk and install a app called ShowBox.
It's as good if not better than Netflix and it's free.!

There is also XBMC but Showbox is better for movies and tv series imo.

For free live sports download an app called Torrent Stream Controller from the Google Play Store and install ACE Stream engine and you will have any sporting event you need. All you need is a good wifi connection and a Android device.

I'm trying this but when I try to connect it says 'can not find active peers'. Anyone else had this happen?

Working fine for me.Watching a near HD quality stream of Man City game.

You can also go to wiziwig.tv and select the game you want and pick one of the Ace Stream streams.
Torrent controller will start automatically.
Meant to say if you have vlc player installed it works far better. You can get it in the Google Play Store.
Just pick vlc player as the video player when you are given the option after the stream is buffered.
When you think you're fucked you're only about 40% fucked.

Just got an iPad for Christmas and was wondering what's the best apps to stream football on? Also a good app for streaming movies as well would be good. (Sorry for hijacking thread, I remember a thread on this but can't seem to find it now)

Did you try ebay?

I bought a magnetic smart cover thingy for my ipad for around 12e. Saw an Apple one in Tesco the other day for 70e.!!
There was no difference between the one I have and the official Apple one.

Do the soccer streams etc. not rely on Flash?

Checked eBay but still about 40 quid whereas the old 30 pin Apple connectors to HDMI are only a few quid.

No these streams aren't reliant on flash. It's p2p file sharing afaik it's like the torrent downloading of movies etc.
Some of the Russian streams are running at 4000kbps a flash stream might be only 250kbps.
As I said you do need a very good internet connection,I have 100mb broadband so it runs fine for me even over wifi.
I bought one of those Android Tv hdmi dongles and have it plugged into my tv.

Just bought one for 13 quid delivered from Amazon so will try hooking the s3 to tv and see how it runs Netflix, Showbox etc. You're definitely not as slow as you look. Ta for the advice.

On the subject of Netflix im signing up really to watch breaking bad. Is it worth watching?

It will start gently, before devouring your every thought.

Afterwards you feel feel as if it is your first day in Heaven. It will be everything you ever wanted but your first question will be: "WTF do I do now?".

Oh and my missus loves the period dramas & Orange is the New Black. She watched all of The Tudors on it and we have just started The Borgias, after recently finishing Rome and are impatiently waiting for season 2 of House of Cards.

When you get tired of all that, download a VPN App for you tablet, tell it you are in the States and you will have a vast movie library available.
