Another thing why are Tyrone so bad at winning broken dirty ball

tyroneStatto

In the end we only took points off the 3 teams below us.

If we do lose to Armagh.. whats the layoff before the first group game is it 6/7 weeks?

Think you're bang on aye - 6 or 7 weeks depending on who you draw

Would be pre Mickey Harte since we have been as bad, diabolical league campaign

tyrone08

Each year we keep getting worse. Simply wouldnt be allowed to happen in any other county. The county board needs to get their act together

Wouldn't be allowed to happen ?

Are you blaming county board ?
Management?

Are you sure the next Management set up will be better ?

We couldn't wait to get the current men in place

When its clearly not working do you think we should just keep them there or admit it hasnt worked out and get a new management in.

Would you be happy with mor in charge next year again?

There is a reason other top teams havent regressed as much as we have done in past 5 years, it simply wouldn't be tolerated.

Quote from: TyroneTam on March 18, 2026, 06:47:29 PMIt's impossible to argue against facts, this time last year we were

- incredibly unlucky to get relegated on the largest points total in div 1 history
- had Armagh on the ropes until we threw it away in last minute
- beat the all Ireland finalists in their own back yard
- beat Dublin in the AI QF

This year we are:

- genuinely on the brink of not even being in the all Ireland series.
- Only beat the two teams who are likely to be relegated to Div 3
- appear to have a very unhappy camp

I'm definitely not saying this in a 'get MOR out' way but the trend is incredibly worrying. We look to have no shape, I can't see any discernable game plan, we're giving away horrendous goals, not defending obvious threats (e.g. Meath no12 having the time of his life kicking 2 pointers for the craic) and I could go on.

I'll absolutely be in the athletic grounds convincing myself we've a chance, however, setting aside the emotional brain my logical thoughts are all doom and gloom.

This is a good summary, a remarkable and very concerning drop off during this league campaign. Not going back up not necessarily a problem if we felt players were getting experience and we were building a team but I didn't see much evidence of that, really looked like a side lacking direction. Even with that every one of those games was there for Tyrone and they invariably didn't step up. A very poor effort given the unquestionable talent available.

If the team takes this aimless form into the Championship then there will rightly be serious questions about MOR come the end of the season. Or maybe it's all part of a masterplan and a blistering Championship awaits. Maybe 🤔

There are no group sections this year. It is back door system. Lose 1st back door game and year is over.

Back door will start once games are at provincial final stage so 5/6 weeks after Armagh game

NotedObserver

We are too small around the middle 8.
That will be an issue that needs sorted no matter who is the manager

It's not a back door like the one from a few years ago. 16 teams in the all Ireland. If you lose the first round you go into a back door with the other 8 losers. Lost that and the year is over.

Armagh v Kerry is like a different sport compared to Omagh earlier.

scout

After seeing Armagh-Kerry, If Tyrone are within 10pts of that Armagh side in athletic grounds then it's an achievement.

If you read my post again you will see that I said that - if you lose your first back door game then your season is over, you are out.
