Looking forward to this one and our first couple of points having lost narrowly to Wexford and Westmeath.

I hope to travel up - the Mrs and the childer can so some shopping now sterling is toilet paper again.

Perhaps I'll meet Dougal beforehand for a coffee and a chat in some local hostelry.

AFAIK Longford will remain unchanged from the last day but more anon

Yerra, t'will be too easy - will stay at home and do a bit of hoking around the garden instead.  It would be cruel to rub Crossbar's and Rufus's noses in it.
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...

Yes SS, you're very welcome to both points in the Athletic Grounds. And while you're at it, do you want to spend some time with my wife too?

Longford have to pick up points against the weaker teams in the division.  ;)

We used to be ashamed of the Athletic Grounds, while reckoning the team was first rate. Nowadays....

The home made vegetable soup from the refreshments kiosk is nice on a frosty night. The coffee is crap.

I assume my 'Blue and Gold' fleg won't cause non-GAA folk in Armagh any problems.

What's the admission into the match in local currency and its equivalent in Euro?
Where's the nearest Sainsburys?

Any chance of free Ard-Comhairle tickets Dougal?

A similar outcome would do this time. If we had a McGeeny, a Marsden and a McConville to revel in space, it probably would end up the same.

Armagh 2-15  Longford 0-12
Armagh's quest for a place in the quarter-finals of the league were enhanced by this handsome victory over a spirited Longford side at the Athletic Grounds The lively Longford side underlined frailties in Armagh's defensive mechanism in the opening stages and these flaws will certainly be more severly punished further down the line. Armagh can, however, take satisfaction from this victory which was never in doubt after they had stifled Longford's initial blitz to go into a 1-7 to 0-4 half-time lead. Cathal O'Rourke's 21st minute goal cushioned Aramgh at a stage when Longford galvanised by Barry, were threatening to unseat their hosts. But when Jarlath Burns touched home Armagh's second goal in the 40th minute after a typical Martin McQuillan solo run, the home team revealed their more expansive skills, with Marsden. NIcGeeney and McConville flourishing in new found space. Longford, despite the efforts of Pauric Farrell and . rden at midfield, were never able to impose themselves on the match, and it was left to Barry and Davis to carry their forward threat, but they lacked support.

If i remember right McGeeney was CHF against Tyrone in the championship in 97 in Omagh. He kicked a few bad wides (he wasn't the only one!) but i didn't see him much in the forwards after that!
That's just, like your opinion man.
