Who would be favourites to win Ulster club now? Ballinderry??
Kilcoo fav with Paddy Power.

So kilcoo are favourites to win a title they have never won after beating a seriously under-strength reigning champion after playing 2 physically demanding games in a row with the added loss of their first choice corner back and doubts over their chf....  :o :o

Kilcoo got to the final just last year. If this proves a huge mental boost to them - dear lord, it should - any physical fatigue will be quickly forgotten about. Think Ulster is wide open right now but Kilcoo have as good a chance as anyone.

are you offering better odds then on kilcoo? kilcoo were dead and buried in the ulster final last year and came right back into it only losing after a bad error led to a cross goal, they were the victim of a dodgy penalty decision early on. all this talk about missing cross players, oisin wasn't missing, he has retired, end of. Jamie made a choice to go to the states, his decision, he was not available for selection, was Cunningham playing today? aaron kernan a big loss no doubt but Jerome johnstone only came on late. kilcoo were cruising until the sending off, but held on and should have won it in normal time. In extra time they simply blew cross away, the fitness levels they showed was first class. do you honestly think they will give a flying f**k about being bookies favourite, they will fear no one. they are a serious outfit, any team that puts away burren and cross are rightly entitled to the mantle of favourites in betting terms.

Charlie you are missing the point here-

Im not detracting in any way from the eoghan rua display today,in fact im delighted for them

however after beating the weakest Cross team for years after 2 prolonged physically demanding games

WOULD YOU PUT YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ON THE MAGPIES TO WIN ULSTER AT 13/8?

Best of luck if you do but you should have been on last week when not many fancied them to beat the so-called MAIN team   ;) ;)

Yes I can understand Kilcoo being tagged as favourites...

just like Burren were favourites to beat them in Down ...or

Cross were favourites twice to beat them......

Kilcoo can only beat  what's in front of them. Crossmaglen would still have a strong panel without those star names. From listening to the game today, Kilcoo were the better side for 50 minutes. And put up a very good performance last year in the Ulster final after a poor start. All the remaining teams have a good chance, Kilcoo maybe slightly ahead and should be favs. They will obviously rest this week and be ready for next week.

Throw ball

Kilcoo beat a very weak Cross team today but have had two very tough games to do so. It will take a big effort for them to beat Ballinderry but their style of play will help.

Armagh club teams will have to step up to. If Maghery had the same approach to matches as Kilcoo had to day they would have beat Cross this year. Especially when Cross were down a few more players than when they played in Armagh championship. Too many Armagh teams have an inferiority complex.

Next year will be a big one for Cross. This year they lost Oisin to retirement, Jamie to travelling and Franny Hanratty seemingly had a fall out. Add to this Paul Kernan has had to take a year out with injury, James Morgan and Ronan Finnegan got injured in a car crash and Aaron Kernan did his ankle. BCB reported on Armagh forum that McKenna was not fit to play today and Aaron Cunningham was only fit to come on as a sub. A couple of others were obviously carrying knocks. Will they be able to regroup next year with everyone on board. If they do this year may only be a blip. On the other hand I would prefer another Armagh club to step up to the mark.

Ballinderry have won ulsters an all ireland ..,......

Kilcoo won a match today......not a trophy...

It is a big challenge for any Armagh club to get the improvement Cross can get from having all of the above available.

Kilcoo won fair and square over the 2 games they whadthe strongest squad available and that was the key.  Yesterday it was clear that the last 4 years really took their toll on a lot of bodies. Outside of the players unavailable there were a few playing with injuries and they were hampered.  Anyway best of luck to Kilcoo. Ballinderry will be hard to beat and are really focused.  Glenswilly are the one's who are really laughing here.  They should beat roslea and will face a team who has played exceptionally physical games and the body can only do so much.

For us next year is next year.  We will have players back and maybe players gone but we will be there and I have a feeling that we will have a big focus.  Defeat hurts hard.

Are you running out of talent? What happens when the Kernans retire? It is still a sad fact that the rest of Armagh football has some way to go to catch you up.

Talk of players missing is because that is the fact of the matter, no one mentioned Oisin as he can't be counted. Jamie Clarke, Aaron Kernan, James Morgan, Ronan Finegan, David McKenna, Fran Hanratty and Aaron Cunningham to an extent missing over the two games from the usual team/panel. At least three county standard men there, has to count for something, and even at that they fought it out til extra time of the second game. Fair play to Kilcoo better over the two games and good luck to them in the rest of their campaign. Would be wary of this Cross team next year, won't want the losing feeling to dwell too long, no doubt they will be chomping at the bit to get going again at it next year, the same way as Kilcoo only had one thing in their head this year - a rematch with Cross!
