Who can blame them, especially McKenna...hung out to dry two years in a row. Good luck to them.

Perhaps if you can recall, he was awful in both games and his performances may have reflected the fact he probably shouldn't have started either game.

Disappointing indeed, especially McParland.

You might be better off without these lads. If they have no guts to stay and fight then let them off and I wouldn't bother with them next year either.

We are an amateur sport. Nobody owns these players. They are young lads who are getting the chance to experience a different country, travel and presumably play a bit of football. They will be sorted with employment too.

Your view Itchy is representative of the neanderthal element within the general GAA public.

No mention of their clubs who will severely feel their loss.

Now that the County Board has named them publicly I hope they stay well away from the Irish International Immigration Centre: http://gaaboard.com/board/index.php?topic=23257.0

Whatever you think! Amazing how these opportunities pop up when the team gets beaten and the manager get criticised. I wonder if Jamie Clarke goal had stood and Armagh had won would the boys be leaving? At the end of the day they made a commitment to the panel and they should see it out. If they couldn't commit let someone else have their place on the panel.

Dougal Maguire

One of them plays for my club and this week we are losing him and another of our senior team but who can blame them? If I was their age and offered the opportunity I'd jump at it

Awful...I don't agree, poor? yes, but not on his own...Grimley could have taken off any of about 6 players including McKeever...the closest he got to his man was in the pre-match parade!...and I am one of his fans!

Would these player get a chance to fly off to America if it wasn't for their club and their county?

What a strange question.

It appears that you are saying that they owe it to their club to stay because had it not been for their club they wouldn't have had the chance to go anyway.

I'm sure there is logic in there somewhere.

Did you join your club for financial gain? Would you put your own personal profit ahead of your clubs interests?

The playing career of these guys will span over a lot more than one summer. To start calling 20 odd year old guys who get an opportunity to see the world selfish is ridiculous. You're only that age once so might as well take the opportunity.

This may be the only chance they'll ever get to do it and in all likelihood they will have many years of service to club and county to come.

What are you on about?

You can't say that the club gave them the chance to go and at the same time say that they can't go because they owe it to their club to stay. It doesn't make sense.

Why not?
They know the opportunity is available to them but they wouldn't seek to avail of this opportunity if they put their club ahead of themselves.

They lack loyalty. Lads like that you don't need.
