I see on the Herald today that Gerry Fahey is in line to take over.

So are about twenty others. The county could make some good bank farming rumours with the amount of them circling around the county.

Fahey's the word from the Mid Ros "in the know" crowd right enough.
We'd want to get someone in soon to avoid another fiasco . >:(

Gerry and his friend sat in front of me at the infamous senior Galway game this year. T'would be prophetic if the future selector of the Roscommon team was the one trying his best to fall into my lap by sitting on the back of his seat the whole game. Touch me and you too shall be healed, Rosfan.

Is this the Fahey that used to manage Offaly and was in running for the Galway job last year?

Why is he the man? Seriously, wouldn t know anything about him much.

Yes and quite possibly because no one else wants the job for the lack of expenses available to our Co Board.  :-\

Yes he is he's one of the many rumoured and will be likely interviewed. He was the Galway minor manager in 2009,2010 their U21 manager this year he was the Offaly manager for a year when they got promoted to Div 1 in 2004 & he managed NUIG to sigerson cup success.

Our last manager had little or no management experience  the Co board will be going the opposite route when choosing a manager this time.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Ok. Where is Fahey from and why him though?

Most counties are in financial trouble I would suspect. Look at Horan sparring with the Mayo board and threatening to quit. Horan is not looking to get wealthy - just that things are done right for the players.

Any non Rossies hear anything?
Some savage rumours doin the rounds in our County the last few days :o

Professor Niall Moyna the big rumour tonight.

He'd be familiar with a far few of the younger Rossies from DCU wouldn't he?
Would be a very interesting appointment. What's his managerial record like - I always thought of him more as a coach...

Three Sigerson Cups, a selector on St. Vincents' AI winning team and of course he was a key part of Gilroy's backroom team that brought Dublin to a new level of fitness and performance. He also managed the u-17 Aussie Rules team. Moyna has pretty coached or managed at every major level and has just about all major the honours the sport has to offer.

If this rumour turns out to be the real deal it could be an inspired choice, his strengths are exactly where we need to improve.

We'll see, though.

Ya got in before me Syferus. Tubber yes around nine young rossies in DCU at the moment and few of 2006 minors have studied there.

Moyna opted out so the wait goes into another week at least Fergal O'Donnell has been confirmed as the minor manager.
