QuoteI know you don't like us Shamrock but there's no call for that

Au contraire Rossfan - I would have no beef with the Rossies. Would always shout for them in any game not involving Longford. Leitrim the same. Went to boarding school with some good lads from both counties who were sound out.

I just suggested Banty for a laugh - I am sure he'll be lamping in the CV. My list of lads to avoid would include

Micko
Maughan
Banty
Luke Dempsey
Tom(my) Carr
Vaaaaaal Andrews
John O'Mahony
Paidi

Only missing Keyser Soze.
Sure could throw David Brent's name into the the mix as well while you're at it!

So it's a toss-up between O'Flatharta and Kernan then.

Those two agents did a fine job in Galway but let's leave them where they are thanks  ;D
Clubs are being asked to submit nominations so it looks like we'll be having a slow process.
Better than rushing in for the first name that someone well in throws up like we did in 2011 and we saw how that ended.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Bingo

I see the Banty been quoted on the Hoganstand that he is interested in the Roscommon job.

Very excited I'm sure at his arrival  :D

Ard-Rí

I hear Banty's a certainty for this now, it'll be interesting to see what he can 'achieve' with his next county.

Please tell me you're joking Ard Ri  :'(
Hopefully our poor Financial position will prevent one of the merry go round circuit managers joining us.

Banty's way down the list. We'll opt for an in-county lad long before we'd turn to Meath's saviour.

QuoteWhen asked if he was interested in the job, 'Banty' told Shannonside FM:

"Roscommon have a lot of young players coming through. Maybe if they are well harnessed they might not be far away in the next two or three years. I never turn anything down or switch anything in or out.

Banty does have a fine way with words, though.

Aye, I was joking.
Don't get too comfortable though, he's in the shake up!

Ah sure there all "not disinterested" - Dempsey, Evans, The blueshirt TD for Mayo , The Banty ....... All that's left now is for Páidi Animals Sé to arrive on the scene.
Sod the lot of the bloody mercenaries.
Let's go for McStay - he'll be free of his Brids commitments tomorrow evening hopefully  ;)

Banty would liven up the Connacht Championship no end.

But who s going to pay for the interpreter?

This explains much in the recent decline of Meath Football.

It's easy to pick a big(ish) name and hope for the best, but perhaps Roscommon would be better served by someone with a reputation for diligence and hard work, albeit with no "big-time" experience? It would eliminate the 'Celebrity Bainisteoir' thing that can be so damaging.

That's been the entire idea since Maughan's reign ended in utter chaos. I don't know if the board have the ability to find an exceptional candidate either internally or externally. If they do it may well be as much by luck as design. Just look at Donegal's handling of McGuiness.

They should never have appointed him.

But they did and the rest is history.

I see on the Herald today that Gerry Fahey is in line to take over.
