He got a good booing from the Cavan fans on the terrace, plenty of smart comments, I like the the announcer's comment at the start "best of luck to the Cavan players no matter who they play for".

From what I saw Cavan supporters either booed him or remained silent. Huge cheers erupted when he kicked a wide, when Ronan Flanagan got out in front of him for a ball and when Feargal Flangan got a hit on him. The atmosphere was not poisonous in the slightest.

Youd have to feel for cavan supporters seeing johnston defect then come on today after getting hammered, score a free, must be awful bitter pill to swallow, id be seething tbh...always liked kildare and still have the soft spot for them despite this, there fans are unreal, some support today.. feel better about taking that 2 pts off ye in the league a few yrs ago with yer 6 subs
