What is the total capacity of Newbridge? For a big county, ye don't have a big ground, similar to Parnell Park its only 10k

Probably fit 12 or 13k in max but with the health & safety audits you can probably shave a few thousand off that now.

If yas get Tyrone come up to Cavan to play it so we can abuse SJ some more.

Was there much of a reaction when SJ came on? Brian Carthy on R1 said something to the effect that he got a loud cheer around the ground with the implication being that the locals didn't grudge him.....

Depends on what you read...

Quotebut his homecoming was surprisingly well received by the Cavan faithful, who gave him a generous round of applause when he entered the fray with the game long ended as a contest.

The Cavan crowd did boo him and one of the loudest cheers was kept for  when Fergal Flanagan had a good swipe at him.

Good lord, what a load of utter tripe. Nothing of the sort. The last ten minutes was more like a pantomine than anything else.

The Kildare cheers were for young Fogarty's introduction.  ;)
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

So is he free to transfer back to the Gaels now?

What a fuckin lie, that is a disgrace.

He got a good booing from the Cavan fans on the terrace, plenty of smart comments, I like the the announcer's comment at the start "best of luck to the Cavan players no matter who they play for".

Westside

From what I saw Cavan supporters either booed him or remained silent. Huge cheers erupted when he kicked a wide, when Ronan Flanagan got out in front of him for a ball and when Feargal Flangan got a hit on him. The atmosphere was not poisonous in the slightest.

Donnellys Hollow

RTÉ really should be held to account for their GAA coverage and reporting. Poisonous atmosphere my hole. There have been underage camogie matches with more hostile crowds.

Really unnecessary intro for the match on the Sunday Game just now too.

squire_in_navy_slacks

Tongue in cheek I reckon

macdanger2

I thought the intro was well done actually

squire_in_navy_slacks

Indeed Mc Geeney getting compared to Matthew mcConaughey.......................  :o what a compliment

macdanger2

RTE seemed intent on making a lot more out of it than it really was

SLIGONIAN

Youd have to feel for cavan supporters seeing johnston defect then come on today after getting hammered, score a free, must be awful bitter pill to swallow, id be seething tbh...always liked kildare and still have the soft spot for them despite this, there fans are unreal, some support today.. feel better about taking that 2 pts off ye in the league a few yrs ago with yer 6 subs ;)
