They haven't beaten anyone other than division four teams and Sligo for two years - that's hardly the kind of form to suggest that they should be so highly rated in this league. 9/1 might be value if the St Brigids lads were available the whole way through, but without them, I'd honestly say they'd be my favourites to make the drop, albeit again in a league where any one of the eight could easily finish on the bottom.

Agree with this, Roscommon are the most overrated team in terms of public perception in the country AINEC.

It would literally take €100 from a winning account to move the price from 9/1 on them winning D3, the fact that no such money is forthcoming should indicate that the sharp punters have no interest in them, they'd be top of my list to be relegated.

Rossfan

We haven't a hope right enough.
Mind you if Domo , Carty, Mannion, O'Gara, Cregg ,Ward and Senan were available I'd give us a fair enough chance of promotion. As it is avoiding the drop is THE challenge.
I wonder who is doing all the overrating of Roscommon?
Maybe our Kerry friend could enlighten us  :D

A lot of people see that the team won a provincial title and played in Croke Park for the last couple of years and blindly assign these achievements an importance in spite of the fact that they haven't beaten even any second tier team in the last couple of years (correct me if I'm wrong).

We haven't been overrated by anyone in reality people rarely talk about us at all. So stop talking nonsense.

Keane

Good to hear you've talked to everyone.

Odds should tell you how we are rated, secondly when the national newspapers report on our games they continually get players names wrong e.g Senan McBride, Jeff Clancy,Kevin O'Higgins Donal Shannon etc.

In the Division 3 previews all that's said about us is "missing St brigid's players" i bet they couldn't even name those players. Mr Keane for whatever reason you have a bee in your bonnet about us.

I believe the Louth media called Ger Heneghan  " Geoffrey Annan" after last weekends challenge game  :D
That Kerry lad has got his knockers in a twist about us alright.
Good to know someone outside our lovely fair County is so concerned about us  :-*

Don't feed trolls with vendettas. This isn't the only place he's tried to get a rise out of Roscommon fans.

Rossfan

May I complement our new jersey sponsor John Murphy from Castlerea who instead of his own name on the jersey is havine "Mayo Roscommon Hospice ".
A wonderful gesture .

Mind you seeing a Ros team with the letters M,A,Y and  O  on their jerseys...... :o

It's a pretty experienced side given the circumstances. Playing Donie at 11 means we'll be looking to get him the ball quick from restarts and have him and Higgins run from deep, we're not going to be dropping a huge amount of long ball down on Devanney..! I fully believe we can win the game, especially when we still have a very good platform in the middle. Tipp are good but they need to be taken in perspective.

At Kiltoom there should be a great atmosphere too so hopefully the weather holds up and we get as good a game as it looks like being.

Not sure on that, ive asked the question and no one seems to know, imo it would be a disgrace if that was the case, Sligo comes first, but i reckon from what ive been told hes carrying a knock. There are other suprises, but im glad 3/4 of the team. Great to see the 2 young coolera boys on it, serious prospects for us.

Im heading home to Sligo from limerick in the next hr and getting lift to belfast and back sligo again tonight, hopefully it will be worth my while, the dissertation can wait, ive always wondered do players ever understand the lengths fans go to getting to games in terms of money aswell. Its never guarnteed with Sligo but 100% effort is minimum and i'll be happy enough once i see that.
