Good man Myles - my wife's brother would be a similar sort of optomist as you. "Cavan for Sam" is his motto. He is my prediction on final positions

Wexford
Tipperary
Roscommon
Longford
Sligo
Antrim
Offaly
Cavan

. Another disappointing display away to Louth tonight from us without the St Brigid's lads (possibly out until the 2nd last game) & a mounting injury list i feel us keeping Div 3 status will be decent season.

Were you up there R4Life?  I heard they didnt do too bad but made a lorry load of substitutions.

Nope but was getting regular text updates, by all accounts disappointing from 9ts up to lose by 4 Louth made most of the substitutions.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Agree except your table is clearly upside down. Are you mad cos our u21's beat ye again today? Your brother in law sounds nice, tell him I was asking for him.

Shamrock Shore

Fair enough Myles - Hastings defeat in Abbeylara was a blow to the nads. My auld lad reffed the first ever Hastings Cup Final in 19666666666666666665 ( i think)

Brother in law is a proud Bailieboro man and we've had manys a pint discussing football. We have a Marshall plan to improve both Cavan and Longford fortunes. Sadly the idea of kidnapping fertile women from Kerry, Tyrone and Dublin to breed with huge hairy monsters from Donegal and Armagh may be a tad unconstituntional.

Bastards.

First game v Sligo is massive for us but we're at fortress Casement so would be hopeful enough.

big year for us this year. Hope to go straight back up but we may be a bit light and up front

A competitive match in Ballywillan Stadium - surely not??

Your predictions suffer from evidence of bewilderment SS - you must have taken a rap on the noggin.

I originally only had one of Sligo and Antrim going up but I changed it because I've grown fond of Sligo and couldn't bare to be apart from them

AZOffaly

I'm loving the way we're being written off.

Shamrock Shore

Yes AZ

Seems to be a strong held view that Offaly are heading for the wilds of Div 4. Never fear. They won the Leinster from there in 1997.

AZOffaly

Just the way we like it :D I remember the same last year, and I think we came within a last gasp defeat to Westmeath of making it up into Division 2.

Sligo and Offaly are the real wild-cards, either could be relegated or even promoted. Certainly safer bets, though.

AZOffaly

Offaly are consistently inconsistent. To be honest I wouldn't back us in any game, but I'd never feel safe backing against us either. We must be one of the most idiosyncratic and unpredictable counties in the country.

Boylesports odds:

Wexford 5/2
Tipperary 5/1
Longford 6/1
Sligo 6/1
Offaly 13/2
Roscommon 8/1
Antrim 8/1
Cavan 11/1

This division is amazing.
There never seems to be a clear cut winner or relegation candidate easily picked any year.
Even if the standard can be poor at times,it is most definitely the most competitive of the Divisions in the NFL.
