Of course, I've given a solution to make the league  mean something, though for some reason people are blaming the county board for what clubs vote on, now if you can tell me  differently or explain an example of when clubs didn't vote for something I'm willing to listen and discuss that..

Ah Casement, so let's talk about the leagues the clubs agreed to again, the Jamie Bryson deflection is dumb, but not surprising

Ulster council took it from Antrim and ran this..

Antrim we're at fault for handing it over but this fuckup lies at the door of the Ulster council

Ulster GAA, Antrim GAA, Sinn Féin, SDLP.

A cluster of balls up. From an Antrim perspective a smaller stadium in the long run is probably a good thing.

Ulster Council. Looking for photo opportunities.

We've just stumbled from one mess to another. Jumped ahead and smashed up the terraces, destroyed the pitch, stripped any value and now going back to the drawing board.  Ineptitude of the highest order throughout and Antrim football and hurling lay at the bottom of any priority list.

The whole shambles should be written up as a case study & as a warning - "If you're thinking of undertaking a major project, then don't even think of attempting to do it this way".

Surprised at you MR2, a lot of Misinformation, Echo Chambers and Propaganda! Trumpism reigns, Ulster is definitely not on its own here, and I see a lot of social media blaming the residents, they didn't design it !

This became (after the Antrim board handed it over to the Ulster council) an Ulster council project, who in turn should have sought good council with the local residents, listened to their concerns, went back to planning and design, possibly tweak and change certain things.. They also should have had water tight planning with regards to the H&S of the new build, sorta standard stuff you assumed that those intrusted with doing so would have covered..

Yes the Antrim board were probably too hasty in their closing of the ground, I full understand their reasoning behind that, insurance, the stand also being unsafe and not meeting safety requirements, and an expected flawless move into a new stadium.

AS someone has mentioned this would be a brilliant case study for how not to approach a major new build in a built up area..

Had some of these things have been dealt with at the time, we would already be playing in Casement

Don't count your chickens before they hatch would fit well here

Talk me through your understanding of that. Specifically in how it relates to you fully understanding the decision to close the ground.

As for the expected flawless move into the new ground..... they were fully aware that there was a lot of opposition from local residents and that there was due to be a legal battle.

Milltown Row2

It was just one on many factors, it didn't close the ground on its own but with the insurance costs they were deemed to be the right move at the time... Hindsight would say, keep it open till the planning was completed and rubber stamped

As for the residents they had their concerns and as I said there was no consultation its seems that met their concerns or their needs..

Like any construction or project that has to be taken into account, as we see with the road that is being held up by some concerned farmers, as you'll have sympathy with their plight no doubt

Thank Christ for the residents and the Judicial Review because it seems the original stadium plan was a Health & Safety ticking time bomb.
The GAA didn't go away and tweak a couple of things to put it right. They had to go right back to the drawing board and design a different stadium. It must have been a fcukin mess.

They did or didn't go away?
