I still maintain the county board have such a complete hash of this that there won't be any promotion or relegation.

Beirbua2024

Yes would clear everything up for the clubs involved if County came out and just said.

But then what would we all discuss every few weeks, the actual games? 😂

On another note I think Cargin vs PG1 will be a great game, really looking forward to seeing it and both teams will be raring to go I'm sure

Hectic

Definitely be very interesting to see if Portglenone can arrive and topple Cargin.

I would be surprised if that were the outcome but it would be nice to see a bit of change too.

I was also a neutral at the match and thought St Brigids were a disgrace. Surely their management are out of a job this morning, playing a half with a massive wind, the way they did? Insane. I'd say Cargin couldn't believe it.

The ref was really poor. He missed so many frees (he wasn't just letting it go) and then very often gave the next free in the same phase of play which usually went the other way. This included the big moment- clear cut free in to Brigid's which he missed, and Cargin go down the pitch and score the winning goal - 4 point swing because the ref wasn't on it.
Overall just a really poor indicator of where Antrim football is at. Very few positives. Best player on the pitch was Tomás, and St Brigid's number four had a fine game.
No idea what happened after the final whistle, but all looked fairly embarrassing.

Paying £20 in to the 2 semi finals and no programme is a disgrace.

Surely something could have been pulled together with the bare minimum of the lineups.

Looking at other counties, the amount they charge and the much higher standard, we are being ripped off.

You haven't a clue with that statement!
Did they not win a junior a few years ago with a lock of boys who previously played football elsewhere?

If it can said about anyone else, it can be said about them.

Some teams seem to get a bye ball while others get it rammed down their throat at every opportunity.

Young Downey going for a point from a 21 yard free 3 or 4 minutes into injury time rather than a goal was a strange decision.  The St Brigids management couldn't believe it.

Yeah, who was that woman giving the hand signals?  Looked off her head

God knows, i wouldnt be that familiar with people with such social status. But your right, she looked like she had one or two bottles of Château Cheval Blanc in her.

Have to say, her husband is one lucky man. She showed levels of skill with the hand gestures and technique that was very arousing to many middle aged men at the match

A strong start from this poster. Bodes well

Would ye whist

I have to say I had my doubts about Totes but he was fantastic yesterday, really slowed the game down when we needed it slowing (helped him with the pace of the game) and gave us the benefit of the doubt, Cheers Brendan

Yes, that is within their gift. Ballymena already in Div 1 ,St. T runners up in league already,  so promoted to Div 1 by right

I don't believe this to be correct.

I'm sure we will find out in time but my understanding is that it would have taken a St Paul's win yesterday to guarantee St Teresa's a promotion spot.

Ballymena were division one in league but intermediate in Championship.

So if they win the Intermediate Championship then they get promoted to Senior Championship and replace St Endas who were relegated from the Senior Championship today.

St Teresa's are promoted to Div1 as Ballymena were already Div1 next year. If they had lost yesterday they would have played Sarsfields (if they lost in the final) in a playoff as St Teresa's finished 2nd in Div2 as was explained on previous posts. Ballymena only played Intermediate this year because Dunloy couldn't as they were graded at Senior level for reaching the SFC final last year. All in all a bit messy I agree but we have an interesting IFC final were both teams will be playing Div1 football in 2025 so should be worth a watch

No amount of assumption fixes messy.

No vehicle in regulations for Intermediate Championship runners up to be promoted unless Division 2 winners also win Intermediate Championship.

Because St Paul's cannot now win Intermediate Championship that ship has sailed.

Should Dunloy not be senior, as you suggest, then perhaps Intermediate runners up could be in the running along with the other 'nearly men' St Endas (avoided league relegation) and Moneyglass (avoided championship relegation) to thrash out how the final senior spot is determined for 2025?

More playoffs anyone 😂

Please no.   wish they would just declare and sort this out so we all know whats going on

4 families settling into a parish that is growing rapidly since 2019 is way different from 1 family leaving there home club because of a fall out.

There are no playoffs between Div 1 or  2 either as per said regulations!
Two teams down,  two teams up.
Ballymena are an outlier that just confuse the situation as they did play IFC to accommodate Dunloy in SFC- remember as well that they were one of the proposers of this outcome !
