I agree with the sentiment, to a JFC player its as important as any other game in the country.

But 'lads giving up their time for these clubs' is tripe. Typical speak of the modern day player - as if they are doing the club a big turn by playing for them.

To be fair, the level of commitment expected from a modern-day player has never been higher. There's been a noticeable shift even compared to just a few years ago, especially at the top clubs. The days of a couple of training sessions and a game at the weekend are long gone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure most players are more than willing to do whatever is asked of them but lets not underestimate the demands managers put on our amateur players which won't always be easy.

It is an amateur game , players a lot of the time no better off for playing especially when they have families etc I would consider it giving up your time even if you enjoy it this time could be spent elsewhere , and for someone to come on here and say nobody cares about it is more of the issue. The modern day player is probably required at a high level to be training at a minimum 4 nights a week between pitch and gym. Don't agree with taking players efforts and commitment for granted agreed nobody is bigger than the club but efforts must also be recognised , our lads aren't always winning but they are made sure they are appreciated for turning up regardless of outcome

I'm sure if you are a belfast man yourself as your name suggests and are involved in the GAA and not just an online slabber. You will in fact know someone involved in one of the eight Belfast junior teams/clubs who may educate you that quite a lot of people care.

Must be a serious shortage of referees if a man has to do 2 SFC games in 2 days.

Would ye whist

At this stage the argument is that the best refs are needed so if it means a ref doing 2 games in 2 days so be it

Cargin man sent off - Outrageous decision. Possibly sinister.

And so it begins. Relentless.

Belfast Live report today that this red card has been overturned, I mean who'd have thought it???? Apart from every single person in attendance that day (minus 1 that we are forbidden from naming  ;D   )

For those of use not at the game we'll just have to assume the back room blazers have bailed out their champions.

Sunday's relegation quarter final could be tasty alright.

What way does the relegation play off stand now with Ahoghill already down?

Four bottom teams in groups play off in relegation play off.
St Pauls v Ahoghill will have big say in group 4.
If ahoghill finished bottom, it would  be a three team round Robin
