Quote from: Take the Mark on August 03, 2025, 09:59:33 AMChampionship brings a new spring to every teams step - as seen first hand yesterday with Whitehill, they were much improved from anything recently fair play to them. However, Ahoghill beating Aghagallon AWAY in the championship is a big upset no matter how you paper it. Poor Pete McGrath will get the entirety of the blame, maybe a big part of it warranted but Aghagallon folk surely need to ask questions of their own players after that.

Fair play to Ahoghill too, glad to see that result.

Edit - not EVERY team gets a spring for championship to be fair... Glenravel...

This was no real shock considering the way Aghagallon have played all year.

Yes the players have to shoulder some of the blame but  the dictatorship that forced this shambles of a management setup upon the players have a lot to answer for.

Take the Mark

Hes there 3 years, how has it taken that long for to realise its a shambles?

Everybody knew after the first year it was a shambles but dictators are called dictators for a reason

Christmas Lights

Someone explain the Aghagallon situation and why is it a shambles for the uninformed? They have all ireland winning manager in Pete McGrath... what's the issue?

Cargin got their fill of it. It was a strong line-out from them so it's hard to say whether they took it for granted or just struggled against a well organised team. Perhaps a bit of both. Whitehill will be sick at not punishing chances to pull further clear in the first half.

The ahoghill result isn't overly surprising. Aghagallons form and struggles have been there for a couple of years now, and Ahoghill haven't become a bad group players just because they have decided to accept relegation.

The Glenravel performance surprised me. I had higher hopes for them. Portglenone will be very close again this year.

Performances, results and a steady decline over 3 years would be a few issues that come to mind .

What's it got to do with Hannon transport?

Hoof Hearted

I understand Ahoghills reasoning for accepting relegation, but you just know if they played, they would've stayed up
There's always a big performance in them when needed.

Almost as big a statement as your own bs...

To be fair PG1 were good on Friday too ITG. Wide open this year, Cargin worthy favourites but its as open as its been for a good few years imo.

As impressive as those wins are the teams on the receiving end of those hammerings must be struggling.

Big win for st brigids too. Most games went as you would have expected bar ahoghill game.
