I'll try TTM. What softens the blow is that around here we feel that the gap is now very close. It takes a lot of proper boxes to tick to win a cship, and Cargin learned that too, and now turn it into an art form. As I said before, it's up to others to find the key to this, and Casements are getting closer by the year. I'm confident that day will come.

Wouldn't it be great for Antrim football if there were 4 or 5 clubs genuinely in the mix year after year!

The bots are out in force, and still no evidence to show the ball was out of play. .

The "bots" don't require any evidence as the decision was made by the umpire. Rather, it's incumbent on those who are seeking to question or undermine that decision to produce evidence to support their claim and you/they have...nothing.

Balls, it's not an appeal. Incumbent my arse.

You're right, it's not an appeal. Just embarrassingly childish and insincere whining.

In defense of the umpire the ball was played in and the players were backing into his position and he wasn't about to get trampled on by these lads, Kevin is a monster of a lad TBF I'd shift myself

Hard to believe this is still a discussion point. is the weather coming up as another excuse later?
Is Bigfoot real?    did the Americans really land on the moon or was it just a film set in Los Angeles?

Is Elvis on this discussion board?

Again, I could throw up some messages or posts from before? People have views on things rightly or wrongly and like to express them, whether they are correct or not..

I represent myself here, not the club, so the view that we may have been on the wrong side of a marginal call is mine only, albeit it was a common talking point after the match.

This is an Antrim Football discussion board, if someone (anyone) posts an opinion then it's up there for debate. In this case a ball that was in or out that the ref made a huge call on that may have influenced the result of a county final.

Some agree this was an important talking point - others thinknit was a cheap shot - but this isn't the first time an on field decision has been questioned and it won't be the last, so wind your necks in and keep the personal comments out of it.

Re evidence, the slowed down version of Jerome's match video dosent show the ball over the line, that's all I've seen, and talked to our player who was confident he had kept the ball in play. I haven't seen this so called decisive photo of Curry's, despite some of those with an emotional attachment saying it was a yard out....others from a neutral perspective are saying its inconclusive.

Now I'm parking this up here, said all I needed to, been magnanimous of fact Cargin might have won anyway, wished them well, and if I see the photo and agree it looks out I'll pop back in here and say so, without any qualms.

The proper gaels of Cargin know I have reached out and congratulated them. Even CB himself! So that's my last word on it, if there's any more WUMs out there knock yourselves out.

lol I get that.  Just saying his position was terrible for trying to call that one.

And don't even know if he was the one that made the call.

CB and BS hugging it out after the match is the result we all wanted

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on October 16, 2024, 08:20:43 AM"It categorically doesn't." is an appropriate quote I've recently read on this board. It remains very debatable.

I have a lot of time and the utmost respect for him but I think it was foolish of Curly to say that the photo shows it "quite clearly" was out.

He'd have been better just posting the photo and leaving his categorical opinion out of the comment.

The photo still shows an element of doubt, due to the angle and I am neutral with no tie to either club.

It put nothing to bed and that's my final take on it.

Spike

Even Bannside has drew a line under this 'Mr Neutral'.

country bumpkin

Neutrality up on the Whitehill.....that's a new one......

Quote from: bannside on October 14, 2024, 12:26:19 AMFirstly, congratulations to Cargin, great club, you know how to grind em out. Good luck in Ulster, all Antrim will be behind you.

Casements didn't fear Cargin before the game and round the club we feel like it's one we lost, rather than Cargin won.

The video is going around that shows we had a good goal disallowed, and we thought when Dermot was black carded, Mick got away with an exact same foul a few minutes later. Those things hit hard when refereeing gets it wrong or is perceived to not be consistent.

And we thought  Enda Lynn should have got a free in to level it in extra time.

Those who wish to comment please do so, just take the time to review the evidence beforehand.

Portglenone will suck it up, and will come back for more. Now that we know we can go toe to toe with Cargin for an hour, our challenge is to go find that extra couple of per cent.

Good luck Cargin, but don't go looking down your noses at us no more! We arnt far away...and best of all... youse know it!

Agree with that all, as a neutral, apart from the Lynn "free" at the end.

He was looking for it.

But ports were the better team (just lacking a quality forward) and I said from the moment the ball hit the net, that was a legitimate goal..... But typically Cargin were able to use their experience and influence to make the call for the officials.

Especially on the black card.... Karol has a lot to answer for on that one.

For a man that claims to be neutral you sure do put up a big fight for Portglenone

'Better team' 'Cargin influence officials' 'Karol to blame'

You might not be from either club but you seem to have a gripe with 1 club

When someone keeps underlining the fact they are neutral dive for cover.
Some bollocks talked on here lads glad to be part of it
