Similar boat as jcpen.

Have a Samsung Galaxy s22 coming near end of contract and the battery life is shit and the charge port is ropey. Have been a Samsung user since s10 but had enough I think as battery life getting poorer with each iteration as far as I can see.

Nothing Phone or OnePlus Nord. S22 and Pixel 7 were flagships or close enough. At 300 quid you'll not be getting much more then they currently have.

I had the S20+ for a few years and I never had a worse battery life.  It was horrific.  I kept the phone in a sort of power saver mode at all times.  I think the problem was the Exynos chip being inefficient.  When I changed to the z fold 4 and snapdragon, all battery problems went away.  Samsung have defo been shafting european customers with the Exynos chip.

Cheers for the info above.

The reason I got the s22 at end of contract instead of going sim only was the battery life in the s20 was shit. The s22 was worse - as soon as it hits 10% it will be at 0 in about 2 mins.

For you chaps in the know. I have about 30k photos on my phone which backup to Google Photos and I may also have the Samsung backup on the background. I'm sure these aren't helping the battery but anyone know how much of an impact they are having?
