I buy into the legal issues surrounding immediate contract termination and no immediate replacement but i think they need look at the contracts, damages/termination clause, explain at least how long we tied in for.The fact is a subsidiary of Allianz has bought war bonds for the attack on Gaza, so they gonna go Asap!

Quote from: Truthsayer on February 28, 2026, 09:50:32 PMHe suggested today that protesters came into "our property". That in essence sums up Jarlath and the hierarchy. The protest today was packed with GAA members. It's not the property of a select few suits, who want to dictate to us.
The issue should have been discussed.

Hard working Gaels you mean, who put more work into the Association in five mins than likes of you do in a lifetime.
You have absolutely no idea what involvement I've had in many aspects of the GAA for many years... and I know exactly what many suits are about.
One aspect was sadly refereeing at youth level in Antrim where many Belfast coaches hadn't a clue. Used to shout "rolling ball'" when a player was penalised for touching the ball on the ground  :D  No wonder it is such a sh*tshow in the city!

Quote from: gallsman on February 28, 2026, 11:30:36 PMAlso would you like to comment on the hypocrisy and arrogance of Peter Canavan being part of these protests while continuing to participate in a show called Allianz League Sunday?
He answered that

gallsman

I'd like to know your views on it, not his.

You think this is a real gotya moment  :D  I accept what he said when he was asked about that contradiction. He's clearly said what the GAA needs to do, Drop Allianz. The man's a legend. What does Allianz do with him now after he challenges them on air?
Your pontificating, twisting and slagging off Tyrone at every opportunity here is laughable considering the state of the GAA in Belfast.

gallsman

Where else have I slagged off Tyrone? Seems to be you're doing most of your engagement about Tyrone football with your own county men.

I don't think it's a gotcha moment at all. I just think it's rampant hypocrisy. You think the fact the man is a legend and happened to be very good at kicking a ball excuses that hypocrisy? Fine, but at least have the balls to just come out and say that. You coward.

"Oh oh oh Antrim GAA is crap"

Well done you, got me right in the feels there.

When Tyrone clubs lost in Ulster it was a campaign of slagging off Tyrone from you. It's why you're slagging off Canavan. Neil McManus has done the same. You want to slag him off too?
I didn't say Antrim GAA is crap, Antrim doesn't begin and end in Belfast... the GAA in Belfast is an embarrassment... the standard of club football, the underage coaching, the state of Casement Park... Do something about it 'Gallsman' rather than spouting on here.. yis are more concerned with that sectarian show in Glasgow today.

gallsman

I'll happily criticise Neil McManus, or anyone else for that matter. The point though is that you're very, very, very vocal about Allianz but don't have a word to say about St. Peter.

As for Belfast, Antrim and the GAA, I haven't lived there in 20 years but I'd wager I still do considerably more than a blowhard such as yourself. Underage refereeing my hoop.

As for "slagging off Tyrone clubs" I'm at a bit of a loss. I mean, we were all discussing football matches. Are we not supposed to do that on the GAA Discussion Board? In the interests of full transparency, I'll fully admit to agreeing with some of your county mates. Ciaran Daly is absolutely crap.

Such a tirade  :D  :D  :D
My underage refereeing in Belfast was short! The coaches didn't know the rules.. just spent the time running onto the field and mouthing. It was impossible.
Tyrone for Sam, Belfast for sectarianism!

Hmm do you put everything "through our own processes" jarlath?

That said I think it's harsh that all the frc ones are being labelled twats and he is labelled a waste of oxygen...
Jim Gavin? Twat.

Eamon Fitz? 100% a twat.

tonto1888

I see what people would call canavan a hypocrite. However, I think he is doing the right thing by using the platform he has to call it all out. Even if that does border on hypocrisy. If he didn't go on the Saturday game then he doesn't have a chance to bring the topic to a national audience

skeog

Peter 100 percent correct in his approach. It may be seen differently by the RTE management down the line he may suffer. They have the power and purse strings.

Referees in Tyrone don't see any mouthing at underage games? You could be stabbed like but no mouthing.

Coaches constantly running onto the field shouting "rolling ball" when a referee penalises a player for touching the ball on the ground.. wtf!
Stabbed? Are you referring to an incident a number of years ago when a man with mental health issues was sectioned in a psychiatric hospital, as indicative of a county where you could get stabbed at underage matches?
