I hope the Kildare County Board have invested in a new fóclóir gaeilge so there's no repeat of the team-sheet debacle when these two counties met previously in the league!
There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

Dont forget to dot your i's and cross your t's as well.  Based on recent performances we might have to rely on paperwork for a win.
Having said that kildare will need to score more than 5 points to beat us. Crucial game for us as we cant be depending on meath and antrim to lose for us  to stay up
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not too sure.

Kildare will be hurting after last week so it will probably depend whose hunger is the greater and in that situation Kildare have never struck me as prideful bunch, we tend to have an arrogance that we don't deserve and expect to beat teams not perceived as top 8. If's tight Sligo will win it and I think it will be.

Should be plenty of experimentation in the Kildare line up now that we've nothing to play for. Sligo need the points. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they beat us.

Alan Smith, Karl Ennis, Leper and most importantly Big Willie on the mend. Hopefully they'll all get a run this Sunday. Mikey Conway and Ken Donnelly still a few weeks away from a return.

Pádraig Fogarty has been added to the panel. Always thought his older brother was worth a run with Kildare. He could do a job at midfield - not sure if he's with the juniors or not?

Hard to know what kind of team McGeeney will put out for this. He could try a few different lads who haven't seen much action this year yet cause chances are we won't be promoted anyway.

The backs are fairly settled I think. Connolly, McGrillen, Foley, McLoughlin, M O Flaherty, Bolton and White will be there for the championship I'd say. Daryl Flynn needs to be left in midfield. We've lots of options for forwards but badly need a settled midfield so constantly changing him in and out makes no sense to me. Rumour has it that Earley's done his knee again so finding a midfield partner for Flynn before the championship is going to be crucial. I think Lynch is the front runner for this. The forwards are wide open at the moment I think with none bar Doyle certain of their place so he might try a few different ones against Sligo to see how they get on like Fogarty, O Sullivan etc.

I won't panic if we don't beat Sligo but it would be good for the lads to get some confidence back before the championship!

Not sure Kildare learned anything new today:

- Starting 6 backs should line out against Wicklow, McGrillen won't be as poor again
- Half-back line are prone to needless & stupid fouling
- Still unconvinced that Lynch is the man to partner Flynner but he was better today
- Still too inconsistent from the frees
- Fionn Dowling is clearly talented but is very raw and will have to bulk up a bit
- Keeping Leper fit is key to Kildare's chances, best player on the field today by a distance

Wouldn't be too confident of a long summer at this stage. Certain players are really going to have to step it up without Dermot and Johnny is not getting any younger.

Sure we'll need a bit of belly tickling to keep us entertained again next winter.

There'll be belly tickling to beat the band a lot sooner than that!

In fairness to us i was at every game and people will be thinking Sligo just not good enough for div2 but imo we should of beat Donegal, and against Tyrone but for a freakish bad goal we would of been a 1pt up with 10 mins left in that one but they had the cushin, then we met Derry on atrocious day weather wise aiding there physical advantage and Laois game we had the ball in there half for first 10 mins and kicked 6/7 wide before a pt was scored, then today opposite happened but EOH straight through on goal 5 mins left 1pt down and only kicks a point criminal miss as he was going for goal. And all that without our best forward, without any competition in midfield with injury to mullen, and without our best half back Johnny Davey.

So with injuries to key players we fell short but no digrace, we competed well, and if we had even Kelly we would good enough for Div 2. I have alot of worries for Championship about positions, INJURIES, tactics and poor management and unfortuently i do expect us to get past Leitrim only just but to get found out against Roscommon again.

Yup i agree you more than held your own in Div 2, you were just on the wrong end of alot close games & in the end unlucky to be relegated (you certainly did better in div 2 than us)

We have plenty of worries for the championship too & any fans that have seen us play in Div 4 won't be expecting to beat Sligo in Markievicz Park...unless a major improvement happens?
