OK lads, there are just 2 days to go to the first tee times, and Bud is running around like a madman. I'm helping out a very, very small bit in 3 areas, and will be posting 3 very important posts today on these areas.

Can you please read them, and respond to me. It is vital that you do this to try and avoid hiccups on the day, and it will help it run off smoothly on both days.

The 3 areas are

Rules
Accomodation
Hole Sponsorship.

So, please look out for the posts, and respond to me either on the board, or via PM.

Thanks

AZOffaly

OK. We'll start with an easy one. Rules.

Basically the Rules that I've put up on here will be adopted for the event this evening. As this is a scramble, and we are trying to cut down on prizes, teams playing on Friday will be competing against teams on Saturday, i.e. there won't be a Friday and a Saturday winner. There will, however, be a Friday and Saturday winner for Longest Drives and Closest to the Pin.

Now, the rules. Any changes will have to be made today because, as I said, this evening is the adoption point. After this, I will be putting the rules into Microsoft Word, and trying to get it to fit at least 2 sets per A4 page.

As I am not going on Friday, I will need the following help from someone who is going on Friday and

1. Is prepared to be there an hour or so before the first tee time.
2. Has access to a printers.
3. Can bring a box of paperclips.

Basically, all I want is someone to print out what I send them (approx 20-30 copies of the rules, so hopefully less than 10 total pages), cut them into seperate slips, and then on Friday attach them with the paperclip (Or stapler) to the scorecards handed out to each team.

See, nice and easy. So can I get a volunteer please? No point PMing for this one, so just reply to this post, and the first one (or two for safety) in will be the ones.

Cheers
AZ

OK, the second one, and the one that's causing Bud the most headaches. Accomodation.

Now as you know, Bud has earmarked 5 houses for both Friday and Saturday night. The cost of these houses is €100 per night. (Not per person!). So far the names have been coming in dribs and drabs to Bud, and it is extremely hard to get a handle on how the houses are filled, who's coming Friday, who's Saturday etc. With everything else going on, it's simply too taxing to try and accomodate (no pun intended) individual requests for 'a bed on Friday' etc.

So, what I propose to do, for Board members and their parties, is to bring it up a level, and let's deal in houses. Each house costs €100 as I said. Let's fill the houses here, among ourselve, and then we can just say to Bud, we need 3, 4 or 5 houses for each night, and you'll get your €100. If we have 4 in a house, or 6 in a house, or 2 in a house, Bud doesn't have to worry about that. So, key factor is it's €100 per house, and it's up to us how we fill it.

Remember the sleeping configuration of the house is 2 x double rooms, and 1 x twin room. Obviously, unless your're very friendly, that means 4 adults is the optimum arrangement. That works out at €25 a man, per night. Obviously if someone bunks on the couch, it's up to the house renter how much ye split it by then.

So, this is the list. If you are not in a house on this list, chances are myself nor Tom are aware of your request, so please PM one of the house 'owners' to see if they have room, or else put your name down for a house, and try fill it off the board or from your group yourself. It should be easy enough to get sorted when we see all the names/houses listed here.

If your name is not here, it is your responsibility to contact the house 'owner' to make sure you are okay. The number of spaces is my estimate in case someone is looking for a room. Use PM lads, and contact each other if you want to share a house

So.

House 2 : Magpie Seanie (No spaces free)

House 3 : Croi (With Dinny, and Declan. 1 space free)

Good man Declan.

AZ, I booked a house direct with Conal for the Friday night, for myself, Dinny and Declan, we have one space free so if you could add that to the Friday night list that would be great.

Finally (and sorry for the bombardment lads) we have the Hole Sponsorship. This has kicked up a notch in the last day or two, and I think we can get close to 18 holes, which would be at least another €800 towards the charities. So far we have the clubs listed below represented. Please PM me if you would like your club represented for €50. If we get 18 or less, that €50 will mean your club is displayed on Friday and Saturday. If we get more than 18, then we'll try and organise it for the days you are playing.

Another favour for Friday, as I can't make it then. Similar to the Rules request, I will have electronic copies, in Word, of the A4 signs for each hole, showing the club name. I am looking for someone who is:

1. Going on Friday and will be there an hour early
2. Has access to a COLOUR printer
3. Can bring 18 of those clear plastic page pockets you see in ring binders, in case of rain.
4. Can bring a ball of twine to tie up the signs on the relevant tee boxes.

Please reply if you can help out here. I'll send the signs on to you tomorrow.

Clubs so far.

1. Strabane Sigersons, County Tyrone
2. Saint Dympna's GFC, Dromore, County Tyrone
3. Tullach Sheasta CLG, Newport, County Tipperary
4. Saint Vincents, Ardcath, County Meath
5. Round Towers , County Kildare
6. Coolera\Strandhill , County Sligo
7. Ballinora CLG, County Cork
8. Castlebar Mitchells, County Mayo
9. Kevin Lynch's Hurling Club, Dungiven,  County Derry

That's the 9 I'm aware of, so let's try our best lads, I know we can get to 18.

AZ - Ensure the name for sponsorship is
Kevin Lynch's Hurling Club, Dungiven , Co. Derry

and how much is it again for the two days?
Will you take cash on the day?
tks.

I'm sure we can take cash, or cheques, on the day. Thanks.

Not long to go now!

Right Lads below are a list of tee off times for the Friday in South County Golf Club.

Tee Off Times:

2:15pm
3pm
3.09pm
3.18pm
3.27pm
4.48pm
4.57pm

If you want to let me know which times would suit you and your team best it would be a great help as some lads who have booked tee off times already were looking to change.

This should keep eveything running smoothly on the day. ::)

Bud, my preference for Friday for my two groups is 3pm and 3.27pm if that's ok? Second group of lads will be arriving in time for 3.27pm.

Kerry Mike

AZ just pm'ed you there. Also if you dont get someone else for the house, I've no problem splitting it the 3 ways, thats if yourself and BC1 agree.

When the tees times are out for Sat, I'd prefer as late a start as possible but will work in what ever time suits you all.
