Radical change or not that's mental :D

Disclaimer: Busted my thumb playing Junior football last night so unless there's such a thing as a set of long clubs to go with a long putter the ball won't get off the tee box four times.
Westmeath - Home of the Christy Ring Cup...

AZ, Puckoon every scramble I've played in totals the handicaps and divides by 6 usually otherwise 4 low handicapers would just clean up. Ya got give us some hope...

Puckoon

I think the only hope you can find is that there doesn't seem to be ANY low handicappers going out from the board - never mind 4 in the same team...

Have obtained a pass for Friday night, I think my wife realises what I shit golfer am I and feels sorry for me that I have to display my skills publicly and considering I am off to a Stag Saturday night that will tell you how bad a golfer I am....

So what are the rules around the scramble - what is our handicapp divided by, does lowest GUI have to drive first everytime, do we have to play at least 1 drive from each 4 ball member etc etc...

Scramble rules typically are - No handicaps, Each member has to contribute at least 4 tee shots. There's other variations then, such as number of putts etc.

Maybe I should give a quick explanation of what a scramble is? (Texas Scramble is probably the easiest)

AZ 8/1 2/1 (he seems to know too much about the rules)

Right lads,

We have had to narrow down the tee times a bit but other than that everything seems on track.

The first shots will be fired at South County starting at 3pm and we have until 4pm. Dat's on Friday.

On Saturday complete with sore heads from Friday nights session we start off at 10am - 2pm.

I have got a printer to print a few books of tickets, all perfectly numbered and accountable and I intend to start selling these next week to get a few bob for prizes.  The first prize is an invitation for two people to the GPA GAla Night, meals and accommodation.

It has been very difficult up to now to judge how many will be coming but in recent days lads like Heffo have thrown their shoulder to the wheel, additional teams have joined and of course we have the 25 ladies on Saturday.

On Monday next both myself and Conal will make ourselves available on the end of a phone line at 045-900670.
Can I ask that if anyone has any questions that you ring us at that stage and confirm anything that is bothering you.

Roll on next Friday !!

The Offaly Rover will sure be heard !!

On the issue of prizes?  How many prizes should I get and what type?  Should I get trophies or practical prizes?  Any ideas or suggestions welcome - only days to go.

Personally, I think the charity should come before the prizes in an event like this. Don't be spending a pile of money on BBQs, TVs etc etc. I reckon a few tasteful trophies/bog oak yokes would be perfect. Maybe one for longest drive, and one for nearest the pin.

You could also get things like golf umbrellas, shoe bags, etc etc if you want to keep them golf related, but I certainly wouldn't think the people going to this are expecting huge prizes, in the main.

I hope to have a few vouchers for four which can do as a minor prize for a 4ball. Will know more on Tuesday. I haven't booked into a 4ball on the friday, any team with 2 spaces willing to take a muppet and a Deise that day?

Bud or Conal, on the number above Dinny.

I took down the golf clubs for the first time in a year last night. Spent 20 minutes brusing mildew off the Arizona Cardinals golf bag :)

All present and correct though, and I have a pile of balls still in their sleeves, I'll bring them all with me lads.
