This is a diary for the 2 week trial aiden oshea went on. He seemed to think aussie rules training was pretty intense.  The games last 2 hours and the pitch is massive. Gaelic is quicker and a lot more skillful but aussie rules is definitely more intense and physical, a game lasts for 2 hours. Tommy Walsh was sayin of the hardest things was the lenght of the match. At half time in an aussie rules match it would be full time in gaelic.

regarding the pitch size: have been to watch test cricket ( I know, I know, but its free in after 5pm on the way home from work) in the Gabba and SCG, pitches always appear much bigger than they are on the telly..a decent size, but not William Wallace massive

I played a full season of aussie rules for a club in Perth and found the grounds were massive. Some pitches are smaller than others but most of the time they would be twice the size of a gaelic pitch.

Walsh and Kennelly AI winners.

Mooney Hogan/McRory winner this year, suspect the rest would be the same as him, underage honours.

i read clarke in yesterdays irish star(the wife buys it) ::) says he thought he wasnt going to be good enough to get a start on downs first 15. i hope this is a once off article got sick of him wittering on about life in oz and how the cornflakes didnt taste the same. ho hum. down need to unearth about 6 more decent footballers before they're a serious force in the championship over a sustained period of time like tyrone or armagh have been over the last ten years. young clarke hasnt done anything more than arron kernan did in his younger days and hes getting it tight to get his place on whats perceived to be a poor armagh side. good luck to clarke but down supporters are getting seriously carried away with his potential to land them a sam.
A coward dies a thousand deaths a soldier only dies once

fer fox ache

Wise up Aaron Kernan's not in the same class as Clarke

Ye can feel a change in the weather, there definitely was a cold snap this morning, maybe a bit of dew on the lawn. The nights are beginning to close in too.

How many weeks til christmas, 12 is it?

i'll resist the temptation to point out the arron kernan has a considerable haul of trophies including young player of the year.
1. hes a play maker
2. hes a free taker
3. hes allowed to roam the pitch. free man
4. hes got both feet
5. hes got a brother on the team
sound familar?

Armagh have been a serious force in the championship the last ten years?

Catch a grip lawnseed.

By the way, if you knew the article was going to aggravate you and you didn't enjoy it, here's a tip for next time, close the newspaper and set it down, I suspect nobody had a gun to your head?
