Oh jesus, do not let Eamonn Barry near the job FFS.  :o

Why does he divide the counties opinion so much?

seafoid

Lads, this is very poor productivity. 3 weeks and you can't even manage to put together what the Mayo posters are producing in 24 hours.   Where is your collective Angst , self disgust and rage against unthinking officialdom ?

Because he's managed roughly half the teams.
If you were any use you'd be playing.

I'd have expected more from Barry in his last go at the meath job.

Carr apparantly is the co boards fave at the moment- well he was , but they are like all co boards - a shower of clowns - so you never know !
..........

JMohan

Paddy Carr?
Is that not the equivalent of Tommy Lyons getting the Mayo job?

thejuice

Whats Paddy Carrs resume like does anyone know??

Banty has been nominated. I must admit I'm not exactly excited by the news.

Wonder will Liam Harnan be nominated after Skrynes triumph. He's pissed on the shoes of the county board in the past though. Also Dudley Farrell will hopefully get a nomination after success with the Minors and at club level with different clubs.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

PC doesn't strike me as the kind of guy that would turn Meaths fortunes around, but could be wrong - his club record is decent enough.
I'd laugh, and I think Meath people would cry, if Banty got it!

Farrell or a Harnan would be the best bet for the county IMO - I think someone of their ilk and experience might be what's needed - in fact both together could be the best mix if possible.

Hardy

I can't see Harnan working as a team with anyone. It won't be an outsider, so forget Banty, as I'm trying very hard to banish the image myself.

I hope Dudley gets it. Failing that, Harnan.

And another thing, bring Paddy O'Rourke out to midfield.  ;)

Think Dudley would be the popular choice alright

carr has done well in a lot of places - might be a decent appointment...lives n navan I think

harnan was a complete disaster in maynooth for a few years. had decent players but went nowhere. The players and club were less than impressed with them - but maybe its a case of the townie mentality just too soft or lazy to get their act together - maynooth have been underachievng for decades now

surprised at skyrne, so maybe he has something that was well hidden for those few years..

The fact that they won the Leinster Intermediate Championship under Cryan in his first year after taking over from Harnan would add weight to that argument. In fairness to Harnan I think a lot of people in Maynooth were simply against him from day one (similar story with David Beggy in Leixlip). Historically, there's always been a great Kildare/Meath rivalry in the town. The locals found it hard to accept a Meath legend like Harnan with many South Meath folk working/studying/socialising in Maynooth. Barney Rock's success with Celbridge bucks the trend in North Kildare.

I don't think Maynooth have the talent at the moment to be a serious force in Kildare. Apart from the Ennis brothers and Cashin they're average enough. Naughton was a good servant on various Kildare junior teams but he's pushing on a bit now, Paul Flood likewise. They haven't the underage talent coming through like Larries, Athy, Celbridge or even JTB who could become a bit of a force again if they get back to senior.

There's Seán Brady going in, what dya think Seán?

I have relations in maynooth DH and thats incorrect
there are a gaggle of young lads well good enough to play for Kildare seniors
comerfords (4 brothers) and Cannings (2 brothers - nephews of Dublins infamous managerial Canning) for a start.

Harnan was not disliked but only when he had them running round the equstrian centre instead of playing football and doing ball work that he started to lose them after his initial year !

imo cryan was / is no great shakes either - maynooth have a huge amount of talent but always had a rubbish exec and committee that hold them back more than anything else.
