Will this new Mayor of Dublin title be paid for by the people of Dublin only, I seriously hope that none of the taxation of this state should support this new role, Dublin taxpayers should pay for it.

It is a load of balls. What's the point in having a President scratch her arse in Dublin and then electing a Mayor to do the same?

I agree, we debating to get rid of the Senate & or some TD's maybe reduce deputies on the councils and now they want to give Dublin an elected Mayor. That is bad enough but they are leaving the Unelected 4 Council Mayors and all those layers of bureaucracy. Sure you might even have Connacht, Munster, the Border Region, Cork, Galway, Waterford, Kilkenny, Limerick etc. calling for their own Mayors.

Its a waste of time.

Makes little difference, the Dubs are the only ones who pay tax in the country anyway.

Also created most of Ireland's debt, maybe we shouldn't have to service Dublins debt.
