It's been mostly a shit darts match with zero consistency or follow up, apart from Litter's unbelievable accuracy on D10.

gallsman

It hasn't been shite FFS. It's been average in two of the three sets, with the second being outstanding.

Bull D10 is mental.

Truthsayer

Most hyped final the great anti-climax ever.. MVG dreadful

It's a dreadful game so far. Apart from a short flurry in set two, neither has thrown back to back big numbers. MvG's inability to hit trebles means he has been unable to create an outshot let alone take one. Littler more interested in cracking 170 to please the crowd than in scoring highly, and he's being allowed to by MvG.

It's crap darts.

Crap darts surely
But you know how sky commentators will big it up as great and the best sport over.

MVG too late to get going but Littler was absolutely relentless. No nonsense approach from him - 17 years old!

thewobbler

Littler is absolutely relentless on his own throw. It's like he can switch on a light when it's needed. He will become the greatest ever if he so desires. Darts though might be a more enjoyable spectator sport in the medium term should he choose not to.

Real life is very different to a 9 dart finish. Boris Becker was also 17 when he won Wimbledon in 1985. He had his troubles. Littler has it all to do in real life.

I didn't think he'd win it but hands up not as overhyped as I thought.
Pele another 17 year old star... had great career after. I suppose some Olympian gymnasts as well..

Hes like a boy only wants to throw darts.. aye we'll see

How much more mental can his life get after becoming world champion? He reached the final at 16 and had all the media attention anyway so think it will be much the same.

Could well be right but we're at least 15yrs away from finding out....no fan of Taylor but it's some record

(It's like when woods started and ones said only a matter of time before Nicklaus records were beat but I digress)
