Hotels in Ireland

My wife's step-moms, great niece (!)...is starting college in August in Galway. I am assuming the University of Galway. Any recommendations for good hotels near there where her family can stay when they are over, helping her move into the dorms?

Also have friends going to a concert at Malahide Castle in June. Where would be good to stay?

Ardiluan is grand, any of the Clayton or maldron are a bit cheaper, glenlo is pricey but very nice.

For malahide, Travelodge Dublin City centre, Dart runs back into town after the concert. The grand hotel in malahide is expensive for what it is.
