Car Insurance!!!!!

Our oldest is turning 17 and for the few months until they get their own wagon I was going to add them to my insurance so I can get them out driving a bit.  My car is a basic 1.6 diesel that would hardly be worth £1,000 and has over 200,000 miles.

I appreciate there is no such thing as cheap car insurance but wondering if anyone has any recommendations / good experience when adding an L driver to their own insurance.

Marmalade insurance is worth a look.

Used them for two of mine, no complaints whatsoever.

If you go down the route of fitting a black box please be careful as the small print varies wildly across insurers. I know of 2 people who have had their insurance pulled without warning die to breaches. There are restrictions on times you can drive etc. My middle fella and his mates took turns doing lifts on nights out when he was at school and there were restrictions on driving after midnight etc.
