None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

Weather doesn't look too promising for fixtures going ahead this sat and sun either! If called off again will they be left till after Christmas and is the game in London still fixed for sun 12th Dec if they do go ahead?

Nah! Just asking a question to which I'm sure both sides would like to know the answer! Obviously you're not able to help, so why bother pretending to be smart!

Fixtures rescheduled for this Weekend

ULSTER CLUB FINAL RE-FIXTURE
CROSSMAGLEN RANGERS V NAOMH CONAILL (DONEGAL)
CLONES SUNDAY DECEMBER 5TH 2PM

Firstly let's credit the Ulster Council with the early decision to call off the scheduled trio of Ulster finals at the weekend due to the inclement weather. While a lot of people expected the decision following the earlier than usual cold snap which has hit the country, over the years decisions like those have been left to the last minute but not so in this case.

The Ulster Council has re-fixed the Junior, Intermediate and Senior finals at the same time and at the same venues for this coming weekend. This means that Intermediate final featuring Lisnaskea Emmett's (Fermanagh) and Monaghan side Doohamlet, managed by Silverbridge's Fergal Reel will take place on Sat Dec 4 @ 7pm in Kingspan Breffni Park

St Tiernach's Park, Clones will host a double header on Sunday Dec 5 with Corduff (Monaghan) v Swanlinbar (Cavan) Throw-In: 12.15pm Ref-Stephen McNamee playing in the Junior final followed by the Senior final at 2pm between Crossmaglen Rangers and Naomh Conaill Referee - Joe McQuillan.

The postponement of the Senior game will leave the winners with only a week to sort out their arrangements for London, as the Ulster champions are scheduled to play Neasden Gaels on Sunday Dec 12 at 1-30 pm in Ruislip, in the quarter-final. The winners of that quarter final will play the winners of the Leinster Championship on Sat, Feb 26. The Leinster final is scheduled for Sunday Dec 5 between Kilmacud Crokes (Dublin) and Rhode( Offaly). Recently crowned Connacht champions St Brigid's (Roscommon) will play the winners of Dr Crokes (Kerry) and Nemo Rangers (Cork) who also play on Sunday Dec 5 in the Munster final on that same Saturday in February.

The Intermediate championship semi-finals on Jan 31 see the Ulster champions Lisnaskea or Doohamlet take on the winners of the Leinster final between Ballymore (Kildare) and Nobber (Meath). The other semi-final sees Connacht champions Naomh Seamus (Galway) play the winner of the Munster final between Gneeveguilla (Kerry) and St Brecken's (Clare). The final will take place on Saturday Feb 12.

In the Junior championship Connacht Champions Parke-Killogue-Crimlin from Galway will travel to Old Bedians Sports Ground, Manchester on Sunday Dec 5 for a quarter final meeting with St Peter's. The winner of that quarter final will face the Munster champions who will come from any of the following four who have yet to play their semi-final matches Tallow (Waterford) v Bruree (Limerick) or St Mary's (Kerry) v Eire Og, Nenagh (Tipperary). The other All-Ireland semi-final will be between Leinster winners St Andrew's (Carlow) or Ballinbrackey (Meath) and Ulster winners Corduff (Monaghan) or Swanlinbar (Cavan) The final will take place on February 12th.

Only commenting, sure you all have the flights booked to London even before last Sunday. Isn't that what you are afraid, losing the fares you had already paid, even though it was probably laundered money anyway!

Sure money is money anyway even if it is laundered you still dont want to be losing it over a bit of cold weather. But at least the oil is selling well at the minute!  ;) ;) ;) ;)

With the delay/s, who does this favor?

Cross knows what to expect in a final and it gives them more time to prepare for Naomh Conaill.

On the other hand Naomh Conaill anticpates a match only to see it postponed and maybe second thoughts start to creep in.

Advantage who?

Have you not answered it?

I think this game should be fixed for somewhere with floodlights. In December it can be very dull even in the middle of the day, having the option of turning on floodlights would be useful.

Both Camps Reveal Frustration

Crossmaglen Rangers joint-manager Tony McEntee admits that the second postponement of the Ulster Club football Final against Naomh Conaill is "another blow".

Ulster Council chiefs were forced to call off their Senior, Intermediate and Junior Football Finals for a second weekend running, and McEntee said it was a major source of frustration for everyone involved."We have young guys in particular who will be playing in their first Ulster final and this waiting game is especially frustrating for them," he said.

"But they will have to be patient. We cannot afford to take our-eye-off-the-ball even though things are at a standstill."

Naomh Conaill's Leo McLoone admits that the cancellation of the Ulster Club championship Final has been frustrating. Killing time hasn't made things any easier in the Tidy Town.

Despite the cold snap, Cathal Corey and his men have been able to get some work done during the first week, with inside sessions at the local school gym, facilitating the necessary graft.

On-the-flip-side, McLoone feels that a lot of the pre-match hype has died a little. The media, both print and broadcasting, wrapped most of their preview material last week, and with those duties out of the way for most; the demand on their time isn't what it was.

"There mightn't be as much nerves or anxiety towards the game. Hopefully, that might be one plus out of the whole thing. Ciaran Boyle had a little niggle, and the extra week will obviously be a benefit to him."

McLoone's displays for his club this term will surely have propelled him to the fore of County manager Jim McGuinness' thoughts ahead of Dr McKenna Cup duty, in early January.

Nevertheless, the player isn't affording any of his time or attention to Donegal until Glenties' Ulster odyssey is concluded one way or the other.

"It's all about belief. We got that wee run and after every game we've improved in that aspect. It's the same with the county; if you can string a few games together, confidence will grow. At the moment, the main thing is Naomh Conaill for all of us; whatever comes along after is a bonus."

The Ulster Council has amended the starting times for next weekend's rescheduled games. While the intermediate final between Lisnaskea and Doohamlet had been arranged for a 7pm throw-in in Breffni Park on each of the last two Saturdays it has now been scheduled for a 2pm start next Saturday. "We feel that this will best facilitate players and fans taking everything into consideration," Ulster PRO Oliver Galligan said.

The junior final has been again fixed for Clones on Sunday next but with an earlier throw-in time of 12 noon, while the senior decider will begin at 1.45pm. This is designed to allow fans to return home in relative daylight.

Ulster Council secretary Danny Murphy remains hopeful that the province's club football finals will be played next weekend.  Murphy said the provincial body would have a meeting to discuss their options if their finals have to be called off again next weekend, which would be their third postponement, but is hopeful that it won't come to that. And it seems the Down native is determined to have the finals played before Christmas at all costs."We have a problem with that (postponing the finals until the New Year) because our intermediate and junior football champions are due to play All-Ireland Quarter Finals in January," he said.

"If the pitches are playable I think that's preferable to having all of the teams hanging around until January."
