Letter writer accuses Adams of "organising murder" Sir Anto's rag prints same. Has Mr Adams not got a strong case for libel, on the assumption that no evidence can be produced?

Hurler on the Bitch

Of course it is libel but the fact is Tony that it would be madness for GA to try and take action in this instance. If you recall the Late Late when Gaybo lined up the Lynch mob - and which Gerry won hands down! - well any court case would be a similar showtrial with all sorts of MI5, sdlp, sticks, former provies (and probably Liam Adams) all lining up to give evidence. However, the Tele know this and relish publishing such letters. The main incident that they wish to hang GA out to dry on is Bloody Friday - when they will try and pin the OC Belfast Brigade at that time on him. Same as Martin McGuinness - he would never take on such a case as the dogs in the street know his past record.

Isn't it amazing that Gerry Adams is appalled at child abuse within his family and yet appeared to have no qualms at organising the murder and destruction of people whose only 'crime' was being British and Protestant?

You have to ask: was it the political interference of MI5 which blocked the investigation of the crime against this young girl?

Surely this demands an investigation and resignations.

Interesting name is Cubitt. Did his dad own a sugar factory? Did they also invent the sugar cube?

Cant excess it my-self, but a civel court is different from a crimmial court. If its what i imagine it says then Gerry and Martin would be in trouble if they tried to sue.British and Irish intel. forces know everything about everybody.

The Sundy World gets hammered for lbel every month. I think Gerry should chance his arm (pardon the pun) here and take a case.

Which bit do you think is libellous?

If you think the letter is libelous and you published a link to it on this public site, where do you stand wrt to libeling GA?

what does that mean? I didn't libel GA, I merely pointed out that someone did and its analogous to referring to the letter to an acquaintance by word of mouth!

You don't think that Mr Adams was, at one time, a leader of the IRA?

T Fearon

I don't know. Has that been proved? Was he ever convicted?

Regardless, surely there must be a burden of proof on the accuser?*

If you don't know, how can you be sure the letter is libellous?
