We are talking about the goalkeeper and not the manager here?

Halgrimsson needs to take a look at Jacob Devaney to try and solve his central midfield problems. The 18 year old man utd academy player currently on loan at St Mirren scored his first senior goal tonight in the Scottish cup at Airdrieonians.

He is in the U21's so safe to assume he is on the radar.

But he has nothing like the experience for international soccer.

Yep. Looks like wobbler was wrong for once?! Will he admit it?

No need.  Ireland won't be going.

The latest injury update on Evan Ferguson has the Republic of Ireland striker ruled out of Roma's Serie A game against Cremonese on Sunday.

Ferguson has missed six matches since mid-January due to sprain to his left ankle.

He has suffered four separate set backs, to both ankles, since arriving on a season-long loan from Brighton last July.

So this is a strange one.

The story is shifting a bit, but it looks like Rovers former CEO and now FAI Director of Football John Martin did a completely illegal side deal with an agent to pay him twice if his player moved to Rovers and then moved on. As in if Noonan moved abroad from Rovers the agent would have been paid as normal by the buying club but also under the table by the selling club, Rovers.

Rovers found out about this after Martin departed and self reported to FIFA and in presumably related news the Noonan family went to the English FA to report the agent as he is based in London. This seems to have come to light when Noonan turned down a move to Hoffenheim that the agent was pushing him into.

To me the question is what did Martin, who had to have known he would get caught, think would happen here?

Not a bad synopsis of the Noonan situation. The LoI journos are skirting around the issue on X and Stephen Bradley was very cryptic after Monday's Rovers match. Most of it doesn't matter to the usual fan, but Rovers could end up with a European ban from a trigger-happy UEFA.

The buzz seems to be because they reported it there won't be a huge punishment, but worst case it's more likely to be a transfer embargo/limit.

I'd say FIFA will do an audit and if they are on the level in terms of what was reported is what was the problem, that is likely that.

They slipped up majorly with Bradley with the Billy boys working on him early.  Hopefully they've upped their game a bit
