Quote from: gallsman on March 26, 2026, 10:37:58 PMThe credit unions will breathe a sigh of relief. Two poor enough penalties sealed it.

Ireland will have their regrets but after a promising start that wasn't a great performance.

On the contrary it's a huge missed opportunity for them.

Only if you think the loans would be paid back. Which you'd be mad to.

I have a friend who used to be an auditor for the League and currently works in CU regulation. Some of the stories would scare the life out of you.

To be fair I've heard the same about Tyrone 03-08.
How do people like that get credit?

Armagh18

Sickening. Serious first half performance but what a daft penalty to give away and then it seemed to be all one way traffic.

Armchair fans are hilarious.

And devoid of self awareness

Quote from: Capt Pat on March 26, 2026, 10:49:26 PMWe didn't practice them either according to Halgrimsson. Szmodics might have been a better penalty taker than the two who missed but he was gone off injured.

Not quite...but you're talking about pro footballers kicking a ball 12 yards. You can't practice kicking under so much pressure, that's the, ah hem kicker

Quote from: Capt Pat on March 26, 2026, 10:59:53 PMJust after seeing the non free kick the czechs got to equalise. Sickening.

The Czechs were playing it up to the ref all night but we didn't help ourselves giving away cheap fouls over and over again. We had the upper hand in the first half and Manning threw it away. We had the upper hand in extra time but every time there was a chance of an opening we played the safe pass. We had the upper hand in the penalties agoing first and then the kelleher save and again fluffed it. It's so disappointing the only plus thing is it would have been even harder to take it they went out like that on Tuesday at the last hurdle

2-0 up and coasting then Manning has a brainwave.
2-1 up with 5 minutes to go and couldn't see it out.
Winning the shootout with two kicks to go, but messed them up.

Nothing to see here  ;D

Only ourselves to blame. Did the same v Slovakia under Kenny.

In fairness we dug it out v Hungary and Portugal but had nothing to lose in that scenario.

Because of terribly, unprofessionally, incompetent and sometimes corrupt management of CUs.

Thought the ref was very good all night tbh. Didn't have any time for anyone throwing themselves to the ground or looking for a free at the slightest bit of contact.

With the cost of living for general life / family stuff atm, the cost of travelling across the Atlantic, ticket prices , travel etc...some would definitely get themselves in way too deep

The 'Johnny come lately' supporters will be disappointed and revert to complaining about the group.

It's been a great couple of months and hopefully we can build on that.

The World Cup in America will be sh1te with all the disruption in the world - at least that's my consolation.

That bit made me laugh.

Tony O Donoghue is a grade A w**ker. Straight after that result is that your last game Seamus? Coleman gave him a stare that said you f**king p***k asking me that.

Definitely. Especially when  it's only  8 or 9 weeks away. That's a  quick turn around. Too quick really.

Nothing wrong with positive criticism

And there's no hierarchy to who supports the team either.
