Haven't seen them in a few years but you'd expect them to. Surprised how bad Czechs were.

square_ball

That's all on Manning. Brain dead stuff to give that penalty away.

Admin - please ban this fool.

The lads gave it their all - heartbreaking result.

Quote from: Capt Pat on March 26, 2026, 10:49:26 PMWe didn't practice them either according to Halgrimsson. Szmodics might have been a better penalty taker than the two who missed but he was gone off injured.
That's not actually what he said

Dag Dog

Azaz and Browne never looked confident before their penalties.
Poor shots, sometimes you get away with it, not tonight.

Capt Pat

Disappointing outcome but another good performance away from home against decent Eastern European opposition.

Hopefully the improved performance levels from the last 3 games continues into the next games in the nations league and European qualifiers.

Capt Pat

Just after seeing the non free kick the czechs got to equalise. Sickening.

They were the better team in the second half.
People need to realise this is an Ireland team that were outplayed and lost to Armenia not that long ago ffs.
The fact we even got as far as a playoff penalty shootout is in itself an achievement considering our last two games were Portugal and Hungary.
What they need to do now is build on this going into the next qualifying campaign.
It's very disappointing to lose of course and I'm not sure we would have beaten Denmark anyway but we're back competing with countries now that would be considered above us and it's been a long time since we could say that.

f**king idiots who no f**k all straight on calling them bottlers and how they shit the bed 🙄

Quote from: gallsman on March 26, 2026, 10:37:58 PMThe credit unions will breathe a sigh of relief. Two poor enough penalties sealed it.

Ireland will have their regrets but after a promising start that wasn't a great performance.

On the contrary it's a huge missed opportunity for them.

Only if you think the loans would be paid back. Which you'd be mad to.

I have a friend who used to be an auditor for the League and currently works in CU regulation. Some of the stories would scare the life out of you.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

The Czechs will be saying the same about our penalty. I'd not be going out of my way to find reasons to feel hard done by.

Captain Obvious

I'll wake up tonight with that ambulance siren in my head.

To be fair our penalty was very soft I thought.

2-0 up and coasting then Manning has a brainwave.
2-1 up with 5 minutes to go and couldn't see it out.
Winning the shootout with two kicks to go, but messed them up.

Nothing to see here  ;D
