Right, i see.. I'm sure theres a way around it but of course it's set up to funnel you towards Itunes.

What is the best car adaptor to get for the ipod?  Belkin?  Griffin? Can you get any that can be powered by batteries because I need the cigarette lighter for the sat nav!

Do ya have a tape deck downgirl?

I have a tape thing with a wire that I put into the tape deck of the car then the wire goes into the ipod and ya can play the mp3 player / ipod in the car that way?

Doesn't charge the mp3 player though if that's what you're looking for.

Dont have a tape deck on the new car I had that for the old car.  Turns out my best friend got me a Belkin clearscan one so its all good!

Yes I believe you do Pints... i have to run everything through Itunes anyway.
Is there a reason you don't want to install it?
They dont have the internet and I dont have broadband here so it'll be a bit of a pain.
Cant believe you cant put music on it through wmp!

Pints if you download itunes you can add the files from windows media player easily enough.

Pints I thought I was the only in civilisation (if Armagh passes for that) without broadband! Sort yersel out!

I know a chap that bought an ipod yet has no broadband thus has no means of putting songs on it and i would say it is still in the box.

I live in england, I have it there (only got about two weeks ago mind you, but I have it!) but only using dial when I'm at home.
Santa really should have looked in to this!

Still can't believe you bloody need itunes to get songs on to them, my mp3 player works perfectly with wmp!

The ipod is nearly 2 years old! I can also confirm it is still in the box. Just playing the waiting game Minder.

A chap in work got a new PC, he wants to transfer the songs on his IPod to Itunes on new computer, can it be done?

Edit* He has no access to his old computer which will make it more problematic i would think.

Here's a great free program I used for that very job
http://www.softspecialist.com/iDump-461/iDump.htm

It basically rips all the songs from your ipod to your new pc..

Got a new computer too, last night faced what I thought was going to be the problem of loading on new songs without erasing what was there already but simple solution - just manually add them by clicking on the manual option when the screen comes up with all the ipod details.  You/he prob knew that already but just in case.
