The legacy of our one (but should have been at least two) All Ireland wins is spreading far and wide, with Armagh men now in charge at prominent Leinster and Connaught counties.

This is surely testament to the high regard in which Armagh football (and the people who made it great) is throughout this island, with only perhaps Kerry being able to rival our county for managerial appoitments in other provinces.

I can remember derrys mono all ireland win having the same affect in the aftermath.  Coleman, Moran, Barton, Cassidy and more  all managed outside their own county, inspired by their input in what ultimately proved to be a one off.  I suspect that the same will happen these Armagh football evangelists.  Its the nature of the beast.  There'll always be people just waiting to be impressed in interview rooms around the country.

Banty is staying.

There were something like 5 Tyrone men at the helm of inter-county teams at some point. Even one managing Derry!  :-X

This is different to the Kerry manager phenomenon that we've seen up to this where Dwyer or Paidi brings high profile and confidence to (apologies to all concerned) perceived under achievers.  Or where Liam Kerins brings a little of the Kerry way to Limerick or Laois. Galway are a strong, traditional county but they have form in bringing in outsiders.  The appointment of Big Joe would hark back more to the appointment of John O'Mahony or even Ger Loughnane to Galway teams in previous years than it does to Mickey Ned in Limerick or John Evans in Tipp.

Armagh's gospel spreads now to the Farney also, very embarrassing episode for the Orchard county, Grimley really did make them grovel and basically told them to f**k off!  He must have some disdain for their County board.
Well at least Tony can take comfort from the fact that his fellow county men have so many high profile jobs   ;D

Its starting to look like Armagh men want to manage anywhere but Armagh!
