Where/when was it supposed to be ?

Loughiel at 1pm on the Saturday. Changed last night.

Surely 6:30 Saturday evening in Ballycastle is an improvement on the Saturday lunchtime slot?

Or Dunloy before the semi final?

I'd love to know why it's changed.

True although as we head into October double headers on pitches can be troublesome.
And some may think playing a final before the senior semi final may devalue it.
But the logic is very sensible. Maybe it could been played after an intermediate semi final on the Sunday?

Quote from: NorthAntrimSaff on September 22, 2025, 11:32:39 AMClub the size and history of St Galls not fielding a championship game is unbelievable. Should lose all home games next year as punishment

I agree, alot of us were disappointed! The talk was that there was 15 bodies but some of our lads need to have a look at themselves! There has been a number of FTF across both codes in championship, be interesting to see what the outcomes are.

Nepotism.

County Chair's club were in two finals, same date, same time. CCC accommodating his wishes at the expense of integrity.

Let's just say it will be an interesting two weeks. Lot of things about to be revealed about CCC and the county board.

If a club are in two finals at the same time then 100%, one of them needs to be moved.

I'm not sure that's quite the case from what I've heard. Something to do with camogie and an appeal which resulted in Loughiel being unavailable.

Armoy were approached by CCC the day before Loughgiel became unavailable, to move the fixture away from the clash. They declined. They wanted to stick with the arrangements that were already posted on the county website. CCC then refixed to 6.30pm on the Saturday. Other venues were available on Saturday afternoon. CCC declined.

Cushendall v Glenariffe/Glenravel in minor final.

Cushendall who are hot favourites this year beat Dunloy after extra time.

Let no-one say the best hurlers belong to the past. They are with us now, and better yet to come

Was some game i hear. Our boys did really well to stay with Cushendall for so long as id expected them not to win that game.

Cushendall are the strong favorites for the minor title this year and have some very talented young hurlers in their ranks.

Armoy well within their rights to try keep game at original time and split the Glenravel support, as many teams would do for their own benefit.
And the county are even relatively generous by speaking to Armoy first before the change.
But ultimately avoiding a club playing two county final fixtures at the same time is just common sense. And I don't think there can be any questioning of it.

Na Glinntí Glasa

When it comes down to it, its not a new thing for a club to be in two finals that have been fixed for the same day.

Truth is no club would accept it being made to play two games on the same day dividing support, families etc having to decide what game to attend if they have family etc playing in both games.

Also no one will want to lose out on gate money! that will be the deciding factor  ;D

There has been petitions in the past when clubs were due to play matches at the same time as others from their club now folk are raging when the game is changed to allow supporters to support both teams. Get on with the game ffs.

NAG1

No club should be asked to play in two important championship games on the same day regardless of the level.

This is one of things of being different organisations though.
